I hate to say it but, I wasn't in love with this book.

*by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2017*

First off, I want to say how much I've loved every single one of BC's books. She's insanely talented and my less than positive review has nothing to do with her skill, and everything to do with MY feelings about the story.I love a good tear jerker, I even enjoy an occasional angsty YA romance every now and then but this book was just too depressing. It's not just a sad beginning or heartbreaking flashback that does it. The entire book is just well, yeah, depressing. The heroine is one of the sweetest people and she just lets everyone dump on her over and over again. The hero is your typical brooding miserable "beast". I didn't feel a romantic connection between the H&H and was pretty bummed out.Anyway, lots of other reviewers have given pretty detailed summaries of the story so I won't duplicate that here, I'll just give you some quick points to help you decide if this is something you want to borrow or buy.1.) Cheating? Technically yes. Even though the hero stays celibate through pretty much the entire book he does eventually hook up with the heroine at the end while still married (though separated).2.) Cliffhanger? Nope.3.) HEA? Yep! A very satisfying one :)4.) Graphic violence or anything that might make you cringe? No, it's not one of those types of books. You're good.5.) Well written? God yes, BC is a sorceress!6.) Sexual content? How hot was it? Too much? Not enough? Not enough. In fact this was just about two sentances away from being a "clean" romance. If you're looking for a hot steamy read, this ain't it.7.) Would I recommend this book to my friends? No. I'd tell them to read anything else BC has written and skip this one.8.) Premise/Trope? Second chance romance? Friends to lovers? This is a Beauty and the Beast story.9.) POV? Dual.

Once again Brittainy C. Cherry has floored me with all the possibilities this novel offered

*** 2017 Favorite ****** 6 Star Review ***Opening a Brittiany C. Cherry novel is like opening a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get but you know you are in for a delicious reading experience. With each chapter it's like taking a bite out of life and experiencing an explosion of flavors, tasting the good and bad that life has to offer. After the book is finished the reader walks away with a rich and rewarding experience after sampling every emotion imaginable. The Gravity of Us is one of those novels that will leave a lasting memory.Graham Russell is the reclusive best seller horror novelist. He is emotionally void and lost to the world of humanity. He can create stories of pure horror, evoking emotions from his readers but he cannot relate to the emotions he has penned on a personal level. His life is perfectly synchronized to revolve around his career and his writing. Although he's married, he's not emotionally invested in his wife. She is just another tool that he uses to make his life more covenient. His wife is cut from the same cloth and uses Graham the same way. Together their lives work like a well oiled machine until an unwanted pregnancy and the death of his father uproots their perfectly synchronized lives. The aftermath of what follows is the rebirth of Graham Russell becoming the man he always had the potential to be. The journey is paralyzing, extremely painful, eye opening, and the greatest joy he will ever experience. Graham Russell is becoming a member of the human race. He is going jump on the emotional rollercoaster and experience the thrilling ride called life. It all begins with meeting a weirdo hippy florist and the early birth of his child. After Lucille's mother died when she was eighteen, she was left with the task of keeping her family together. Her mother wanted her to keep her sisters together and become the glue during the hard times and good times. Her ability to love loudly was the strength they would all need throughout life. Her mother didn't issue this task lightly, she knew who her daughters were at the very core and knew Lucy had the strength to love them unconditionally. A life threatening battle with cancer, a heart wrenching divorce, a sister who left their family behind after the burial, and all the new paths in life will not deter Lucy from her task. It was what she was born to do. She will never change. She will always love unconditionally even if it breaks her heart. She will always be eternally optimistic even when the world is collapsing beneath her feet. She will always have hope. She will always share her unconditional love and hope with anyone who crosses her path, including the pessimistic Graham Russell.Graham Russell's perfectly synchronized life fell apart when his daughter was born prematurely. It was the defining moment that changed his life forever even though his wife abandoned him with a dying child. That was the day he learned he could love unconditionally even though he had never experienced love in his life. Meeting Lucy, the weirdo hippy florist was the day the heavens sent an angel to guide him through the emotionally infested waters of life. Lucy taught Graham how to express his love. She gently guided him through his emotions and taught him how to give as well as receive love. She held his hand through thick and thin, she never let go when he thought he would sink, and she always encouraged him to do it better. She gave him the courage to become the man he was meant to be. She gave him unconditional love. How could he not fall in love with this angel? He's determined to give Lucy the same kind of love she has given him and his daughter. He will always have her back even if it means letting her go.Once again Brittainy C. Cherry has floored me with all the possibilities this novel offered. She has a true gift of portraying humanity in all it's glory. Adding a beautiful romance gives the book more beauty. I highly recommend reading The Gravity Of Us.

    6 magnificent stars

*by B***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 23, 2017*

This. Was. Magnificent! It truly was. I need all the stars and then some for my rating. This is by far IMO BC's best work to date. There isn't a single thing I didn't love (not like, love) about The Gravity of Us. From the slow burn romance and Graham's 180 in himself, how he saw the world, how he loved his child to the amazing cast of supporting characters. The writing is on point, tight but so beautiful and the feels! Sheesh, I thought this would be an angst overload, and it was anything but. What really shone through for me was the characters - I've already mentioned Graham's growth, it was phenomenal. The garden, the tree, the licorice. He made me swoon so many times, and to see him grow from this closed off, cold and ruthless man to the Graham I came to love .... no words. And Lucy - she could so very easily have been a doormat. She wasn't. Yes she was trusting, forgiving, loving, caring but not a doormat. Yes she took his crap, but CHOSE to overlook it because she SAW him, the him buried under a lifetime of rejection, abuse and neglect. The other thing I loved is that the ex issue could have been a huge angst fest, thank goodness it wasn't.Well played Ms Cherry, so very well played.6 stars.
