## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are they kiln dried?**
A: They are toasted all the way through and charred on the out side. So they were cooked some how. If it was in a kiln or not it doesn't say. Works good though. I prefer oak chips toasted and charred 50/50 mix. Best of luck.

**Q: Are they made from new oak lumber or used oak barrels?**
A: They are made from new stock oak...they are fresh and impart the oak qualities that most seek in distilled, aged liquor. (Used oak, such as used casks, have imparted most of the flavor into previous items and would much slower...but it's the oak spiral that gets the flavor into your product.) Great items, it only works once per bottle and I toss mine after using, as it doesn't seem to work on subsequent bottles.)

**Q: Hi there Seller, Is there 4 of these in the pack or is it a 1 pack?**
A: 4 individual packs (1 in each).

**Q: How much spirals is enough for a 5 gallon batch of beer?**
A: I don't know about beer, but I use one per 750ml of whisky.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was skeptical. Way more impressive than I thought.
*by on Reviewed in the United States March 21, 2026*

OK so hear me out. I was very skeptical about these making much difference but I was curious. I had a bottle of buffalo trace white dog mash #1. It was terrible and raw. If you don't know what that means, you haven't tried it, and it's hard to explain. I popped two of these in there in March 2024, corked it and forgot about it in the back of the liquor cabinet. Now, two years later in March 2026, I said "let try this and see," and WOW what a difference. It's not just tolerable, but actually tastes good, like I'd do it again good. Don't get me wrong, it's still got a young quality to it, but it's got a nice oak sweetness and smoothness to it, especially considering the 125 proof point and raw prior flavor. Overall, actually impressed and worth it. If you're looking at this, go ahead and give it a shot.

I love these. Adds a great color and flavor.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spiral Infusion

I use to tint my clear spirits and they work well. They do not however change the taste profile like storing in a bourbon or whiskey barrel.
