Hikari Tropical Micro Wafers Fish Food

These pellets are super tiny small! My adult Bolivian rams and Cori Cats could hardly see them to try to eat them. It was like they saw it, but lost sight of it before they could snag it. They sink almost immediately and fast. The pellets vanish into my gravel faster than the fish can catch them.The food doesn't have a strong smell and doesn't seem to change the water smell. It would be best for small/young fish and substrate free bottom that food can't vanish into.

This is a good product I didn't give it a 5 because I discovered that is only for larger fish such as silver dollar size Angelfish . When I fed it to my smaller Angelfish "nickel size" a few of them managed to eat themselves to death. I feel this was my fault not the fault of the product. I was feeding several tanks with 200 Angelefish in each tank. I didn't take into consideration that the larger angelfish would consume more food and be more aggressive. Those were the fish did ended up dying from over eating. Now that I'm aware of this problem it won't happen again, and I will still order more of this product.

Catfish and corys are crazy about this food, I love the mini size because I admit I LOVE to feed my fish.. too much.. so with these micro wafers I can content myself with super tiny little feedings through out the day. This is much better for everyone since with the larger wafers I would sometimes end up sticking my entire arm in the tank swishing around a net to get the uneaten wafer chunks, comical and stressful! More seriously the fish seem happier with these tiny bits because they can dig through the surface of the sand hunting for bites and bits.

My black mollies and corydoras loved them. Neon tetras too, except they can't fit in their mouths but will try, so I know they're good. Prob bought them around Nov 2019. The only thing is, the expiration date is Feb 2020, so only have a few months to finish this entire thing. I used more than half, but buyer beware and ask the seller for the Expiration Date.

I have never been disappointed with Hikari fish food. Most of my fish enjoy this food and eat it enthusiastically. The ingredients seem to be highly nutritious and conducive to thriving aquarium fish. My only possible criticism is that the wafers are really little flat pellets and a bit big for my smaller fish to eat. However, the larger fish have no difficulty with them.

I have 125 gl community tank. The only food I feed now is Hakari. All the fish do well. My water parameters have never been more stable since I switched to this brand. Every fish in the tank eats Hikari - from the 6" clown loach to the lemon tetras.

These work great in an automatic feeder, which is why I buy them. Fish seem to like them just fine.Watch out for the price changes. Not sure why but it seems to go up and down sporadically. Sometimes it's cheaper to just buy at a local store and then the price will drop $5, then it's cheaper on Amazon. I've seen it as high as $14, but also as low as $6

I can't say much on the flavor of these but I trust my fishes opinions and they seem to enjoy them. They sink extremely fast however which is not necessarily good for the nitrates but as long as you clean your tank regularly they should be fine. This seems to be all of my fishes favorite brand of food. I use the sinking wafers, micro pellets, and micro wafers. All of my fish are happy so I am as well!

I bought these based on other customer feedback and thought would be great for my small fish as they are supposed sink slowly which, as most of my fish prefer to feed at the top of the tank, should suit them. Unfortunately they sink very quickly indeed; much faster than flake food. Only used a couple of times and I've yet to see a fish catch one. Shame, because I liked the idea of them being good for colour etc.

If you are reading this. PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. Below are the drawbacks1. Pellets are really small even the smallest fish find difficult to find2. Pellets sink very rapidly and dissolve making the water smelly3. Pellets smell very bad. Go for cheaper option like Optimum
