Homodox Dehydrator: A Solid Starter for Sustainable Living
The Homodox Dehydrator has been a welcome addition to our kitchen, as we embark on a journey towards a more sustainable lifestyle. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of high-end dehydrators, it certainly gets the job done. One crucial tip we’ve learned is to always use the plastic clear cover on the top. Without it, air escapes, and dehydration becomes ineffective. Fortunately, a quick Google search provided us with additional instructions and techniques to optimize our dehydrating process. The included instruction and cooking book is a nice touch, but we’ve found more comprehensive tips and tricks online. Nonetheless, the dehydrator offers two height options for the trays, allowing for versatile dehydration of various foods. We purchased this dehydrator specifically to reduce food waste by preserving excess produce from our garden this summer. In that regard, it has served us well. For the price point, it’s a solid choice for beginners looking to dip their toes into the world of dehydration.Overall, the Homodox Dehydrator offers practical functionality and serves as a gateway to sustainable living. While it may require some extra research to maximize its potential, it’s a worthy investment for those seeking to reduce food waste and live more eco-consciously.

Works well!
I waited several weeks before writing this review. I use mine to make beef Jerky and wow does this dehydrator do that well. The temp only goes up to 158F so keep that in mind. Takes about 5 hours to make a full batch (about 4-5 pounds) but wow does this thing work! It removes majority of the water content. I will say it was well engineered and it shows in the performance. I rotate the racks about 3 hours in and flip the jerky over. The meat tends to stick to the plastic racks if I let it go for 4-5 hours but what I like about this design is all the meat is evenly dehydrated. Unlike other units I have used in the past. The heat is produced on the bottom and rises so that's why I flip them mid way. The center of the racks is open so the air / heat can move evenly through it unrestricted.Overall for the value this is the king of dehydrators. At this price point you don't really get performance on this level. I been making jerky for years and used several different dehydrators, this has to be one of the best engineered ones I've personally used.

Easy to use
It works well. It sets the temp in chunks of minutes, instead of minute by minute.I'm content with it. The pamphlet that came with it wasn't too helpful, but it works pretty easily.

Works great!
The dehydrator was packed very well, easy to clean and set up. We just got it so we’ve only made one item so far. Our dog loves the dehydrated sweet potatoes that come in small packages and cost a lot, so we decided to try making our own dehydrated sweet potatoes. Not only did she like them, she liked them better than the store bought. We’re looking forward to dehydrating figs, apricots, cherries, tomatoes and everything else for us humans.

It worked ok Until I the fan stopped and I smelled Burning Plastic. lasted 6 1/2 months 5 uses
This Dehydrator worked ok. little slow to dry and Uneven drying. I used it for fruits but mostly Ground beef Jerky.I used it a total of 5 times. It took 11-12 hours to dry out 5 pound of Ground Beef. kind slow. but it worked...... until my last time i used it. I mixed up a 5 pound batch of ground beef, I loaded the trays up with my Jerky gun and turned it on and set the time and temp and it was running as it should. I went to the living room and after a few minutes I noticed I couldn't hear the fan. Went to check it out and the machine was humming and the fan was not working and I could smell burning plastic. I immediately turned the machine off. So basically the 5 pounds of meat was exposed to burning plastic and I could still smell it on the meat 20 minutes later. I had to throw the meat out. I didn't want to risk it. So I'm out the cost and time of preparing 5 pounds of meat and the cost of the dehydrator. 5 uses in 6 1/2 months and this thing just quits on you. I want my money back. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product.

Amazing!!!
Oh my gosh you guys this is awesome! The only recommendation is buy the plastic tray things that go on the trays, just for simple clean up and getting them off the racks... other than that, I am so totally completely happy with this purchase and I know you will be too!!!!

Good value for price
I was a little apprehensive as some of the other reviews indicated difficulty with controls. I didn't have any problems with them. Directions not all that clear. Great information on how long it takes but nothing about what temperature to use. But Google came through. Directions list the temperatures it is supposed to be able to set to, only when I used it, the actual unit didn't have some of the Temps as an option. Ran into issue that the temp initially used took almost triple the time listed in the Directions, but if went the next temp up, out items burned without even getting fully dried. Could be user error, I'll be trying it again. Perfect size to fit on the counter & not be in the way as it is pretty small
