HP Instant Ink is a subscription service that includes ink or toner with hassle-free delivery and recycling. With an Instant Ink plan, you pay for pages you print, not the amount of ink you use—a printed page costs the same whether it's black and white, a color document or a photo. Plans start at $0.99/month (10 pages) for ink and $1.99/month (50 pages) for toner, and go up to $24.99/month (700 pages) for ink and $25.99/month (1500 pages) for toner.

This is an invitation to join HP's Instant Ink.
If you bought an HP printer at a discount, you were also invited to receive 6 months of free ink, sent to you when you linked your printer to the program. Ink is sent to you as your printer indicates that its cartridges are running low. I paid $5.00 to start this service, which has been credited to my new account. I signed up, and folks who use this recommended it for me.

HP Instant Ink A Great Value For Light Printer Users
You don’t need to purchase this prepaid code to enroll in the HP Instant Ink replacement ink program, something I didn’t know when I bought this. The $5 is in my HP account, and will be used to pay for additional pages in any month I go over my free page limit. The HP Instant Ink program is great for light printer users like me, I get 15 free pages per month, and additional pages print at a cost of ten cents each. It doesn’t matter whether you’re printing a simple black and white page of text or a full color 8x10 picture, no more need to select “draft mode” or “print in black only” to save on the cost of replacing color cartridges. Most months I don’t even print 15 pages, so I’m basically getting free ink through this program. I’ve already received the first set of replacement black and color cartridges for my printer, so I’ll never run out of ink.I’m not sure if this program is a good value for anyone who prints a lot more pages per month, but it works for me.

Not good
Do NOT order this product! What a waste.Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2021There is absolutely no point in ordering this code. First of all, I purchased it with a printer, then ended up returning the printer… and there is no way to get a refund for this code or to return it. So I’m out $5 and I get nothing in return.Next, if I HAD kept the printer, I found out that I wouldn’t even need this $5 code to use the Instant Ink program, because I’m definitely a light printer and would have only needed to sign up for the option where you can print up to 15 pages per month… which is TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE. So I wouldn’t have needed this $5 code anyway! Useless.Next, if I HAD kept the printer, and HAD needed to print more pages per month, I could have signed up for Instant Ink on my own, and only paid as needed for their services. This code saved me a few cents (it’s a $5 code and I paid $4.89, so I saved 11 cents off the $5 if I would have even needed it). That 11 cents of savings certainly wouldn’t be worth the effort of finding the code number and trying to get credit for that $5 on my Instant Ink account, when I could have just set up the account with my payment information and paid for it as I go. So this code only complicates the process and saves you almost nothing. This is essentially a scam. The reason they offer this $5 code is to get people to sign up for Instant Ink, not to save you money on it and not to make it easier for you to sign up. It’s just a way that HP can ensure they get you to sign up for their ink system when you buy a new printer. But the real scam here is that you can buy a new printer and return it, but if you buy this code with it, you can’t get your money back for the code. So the real money maker here for this company is taking advantage of people like me, that bought a printer, ended up returning it, and never got to use their $5 code… or people who bought their printer, signed up for Instant Ink, and realized that the light printing option is free and that they will never need the $5 code. In both of those cases, this is a way for HP to get $5 from people in a non-refundable way, knowing very well that many people will buy this product and soon find out that they don’t need it. What a complete rip off. I am returning my HP printer for other reasons (realized I bought a model that isn’t the right set up for me), but when I do choose another printer I’ll be staying away from HP because this product is a total scam, and if HP is ok with intentionally cheating people out of money then I want nothing to do with them.

Easy to use
The prepaid code arrived quickly and was easy to apply to my Instant Ink account. It would also be easy to refill my HP account with a credit card. BUT, if you were given an Amazon gift certificate and already have an Instant Ink account, this prepaid code is a great way use that thoughtful gift!

When will it be back in stock?
This has been a blessing and useful keeping my HP Instant Ink subscription but since it has been out of stock, my printer has been sitting on my desk, collecting dust.Could give 5 stars but one star less because it's been out of stock for a while.

They don’t tell the truth
The only problem I have is when during this pandemic we are in I had to miss 1 payment ! I asked an agent and the agent told me I was fine I paid for the next month I missed nov and paid for December! When I paid for December a couple days went by I got an email for suspension due to no payment in nov !! I contacted an agent he said I didn’t have to pay for nov but I owe 12 I said how if I’ve only missed one and I got bank records to prove well we went back and forth till i contacted an agent on phone ! I did have to pay for November or my subscription would be canceled!! So they need to get there stuff together and tell people if you do miss you have to pay what you missed or no service!!
