Nice sounding pair
These Mallets have a nice weight to them and the sound projects nicely (not too harsh of an attack).

Very Good
Thank you very much for the mallets! =) they came when they should've, and they comically came in a gigantic box for them. =))

Excellent Marimba Mallets
These marimba mallets are very well designed, bringing out the widest palate of sounds possible from the marimba. I especially like the soft mallets, which bring out the more resonant characteristics of the instrument for slow legato playing (i.e. rolling out four note chords). There is one flaw, and that is that the mallets are heavier than most standard marimba mallets. I have found, however, that the heavy weight of the mallet has greatly improved my finger and wrist strength when playing four mallet marimba literature.

Great marimba tone and warmth - even on a xylophone! One of the mallets came splintered and broken however...
Let me first preface this by stating I bought this product twice (to get a full set of 4-mallets). The order was split into two orders (2-mallets each). The first order was fine, however, the second order came in perfectly fine packaging (as did the first) but the product came broken out of the box. One of the two mallets was splintered near the end, with about and inch of the birch handle with the mallet head on it being completely broken off the rest of the handle. I've have registered a replacement order with Amazon so I will update this once I receive a replacement set of mallets. The first set that I received were excellent though. Fantastic tone and quality, even when using it on a xylophone - still gives that marimba tonality and warmth. Best marimba mallets I've used thus far. I'd heartily recommend them to anyone that's looking for a good, economically sound pair of mallets for a marimba (or for a marimba sound on a xylophone). Would rate them 5 stars, if not for the second order coming with a splintered, broken mallet right out of the box.
