This book teaches new techniques that anyone can use to create fabulous masks easily and quickly. Make one of the 12 popular mask styles in the book following the detailed instructions and over 300 step-by-step photos – or use these easy new methods to create your own unique designs. Jonni shows you exactly how to sculpt the features of your masks so they truly represent the character and expression you’re looking for. Then capture that look permanently with just two layers of super-strong, fast-setting paper mache, using the recipes included in the book. Your finished masks can look like they were made from fur or feathers, antique gold, ancient bone, rusted iron, glazed porcelain, and even carved and highly polished African wood. The innovative methods in this book are easy, the materials cost just pennies per mask, and your new creations will be just as much fun to make than they are to wear. Review: I knew I would love this book! - Recently I searched mask-making and came across a YouTube tutorial posted by Jonni Good. She was so thorough and made her techniques look so easy; I couldn't wait for her to post the next segment of the process. After watching all three YouTube posts on her Panalone mask, I bought this book. Great recipes for gesso and paste that are über easy and inexpensive. The author's explanations in the book are as concise and understandable as her tutorial videos - really, really good stuff! Lots of great photos. I recommend this book for paper mâché artists at any level. I have some experience with mask-making, paper mâché and the history of comedia del arte and I found this book to be a very worthwhile investment. Aside: Jonni Good seems to be a real animal lover. Her cat is singing (meowing) away in one of the video tutorials. Pretty funny. Review: Helpful book. - Jonnie Good is "the best" when it comes to paper Mache. Her books (and I have others) are clear and very helpful when trying to create masks and sculptures. Very informative. Of course you can view her programs online, but I find having a book in hand as a reference is somewhat easier. Anyway - I find this book quite good and am glad I bought it.

This is a really good diy book on mask making.
I love this book! It gives you the basic instructions & a lot of neat ideas for mask making. Although, somehow the ones i have made by following the paper mache & gesso recipes, have turned out heavier than i had expected, to the point that i really should have added extra straps to hold them onto the head. I think for now, when i use these recipes, i will be making helmets instead of masks until i figure out how to make them lighter. This book made me so excited to get started that i never completely finished reading it. I guess i should finish it, it might tell me what i need to know.

I love it.
This is an amazing book. I found it by browsing YouTube for mask-making videos. As a Theatre Arts teacher, I was looking for different techniques to make paper mache masks. I bought the book and have used it a lot since I bought it. Instructions are clear and easy to follow, it has many pictures and provides good support when in doubt. She has a page in which she posts videos of the procedure, which are great for visual learners.

An awesome step by step guide
The great thing about the projects in this book is that they are all so doable. Every step is carefully explained with heaps of photographs so that you can't help but make some successful pieces of your own. Not only do you learn how to make some stunning masks (with complete project instructions) but there are also a lot of tips and tricks on how to create a finish on your masks that looks professional and is long lasting. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in paper mache crafts and mask making. Lisa Oliver

Great Book!
Love this book. I keep it with my paper mache supplies and use the recipes in it all the time! It is detailed and takes you through each step so you can make each mask just like the ones in the pics and then you have all the knowledge to invent your own designs. Love the author and she has a website that you can go and ask questions or show off your work. I included a pic of a luigi mask I made using her techniques, it was a lot of fun and my son loves the mask!

Great Book For Learning Advanced Mask Making Techniques
I've been a professional sculptor/mold maker for over twenty years and have used various techniques for creating facial pieces. This book helped me in that it was dealing with paper mache techniques that I had never used before. Good's fabrication processes were very helpful for me in translating her techniques into my own while using different materials that she doesn't use. A great book for any sculptor interested in mask making to have on their bookcase.

Lovely book from a great teacher.
Jonni is a master at paper-mache sculpting and she is a great teacher. I have been watching her videos for years and learning a lot. This book drills down into mask making and is a useful goto book.

good book
Very easy to follow instructions to make paper mache masks. The author's recipes are good and make quite strong masks with only couple of layers of paper mache. The author also gives some nice painting tips and tips on detailing masks. People living outside of the US may have to scrounge around to find good substitutes for some of the ingredients ( like here in France I really could not find equivalently strong paper towels), but in the end eveything works out.

Fantastic
Jonni's book is the best book I've found so far on mask making. Her instructions are easy to follow, well illustrated, and use materials that are easily obtainable even in the UK. The results are durable, sturdy, yet very light, and even better: once you've mastered the method the possibilities are endless and you can make masks as complex as your imagination allows! I've now got a shelf full of venetian-style masks in various stages of completion, and I only bought the book a couple of weeks ago. I found it via a video on Youtube showing Jonni demonstrating some of the methods from this book, and from there I followed the trail to her website UltimatePaperMache where you can see her current works in progress. She's very generous with advice and showing her methods, so do check it out. I'm delighted with this book, and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to start making papier mache masks.

Salve oh! diosa Jonni Good!!!
