It's hard to imagine a topic this intense and politically charged could be handled with as much grace and skill as Maher does in this brilliant book. Not only does she treat each character with dignity and respect, Maher brings to life the complex and contradictory world that made Qandeel's life and inevitable death possible. Highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Qandeel, or the Pakistani landscape in general.

I had big expectations about this book but they haven't been fullfilled. If you have already read about Qandeel from newspapers or watched documentaries about her, this book is an useless read, it will not tell you anything you did not already know.
