Q: Will this float? Wanting it for the lake - surface swimming, no diving and 13 year olds will be using.

You control if you want to put more pressure on the scooter to bring you under. Our 7 year old has used it in our pool and our lake house just to pull herself along with no problem. The unit does not try and pull you under. I hope this helps!

Q: I press the triggers and the motor only runs for 4 seconds, is this normal for this scooter? I've charged the battery over night, the green charge light never began flashing, not sure if this is correct either?

If the scooter only runs for 4 seconds the battery is discharged. You can verify this by checking battery with a voltmeter. Also check output voltage of charger with the meter. If the charger is indicating full voltage, you have a defective battery or a bad connection to it. In either case the battery is not charging. It is normal for it to run for 4 seconds if the battery is discharged. hope you resolve it soon they are a real blast to ride. Larry

Q: why can't I turn it off

What do you mean? Do the blades keep spinning until the battery runs out? Or the switch won't flip to turn off?
