HEALTHY STRAWBERRY PLANTS (NOT DEAD!)
My bareroot strawberries arrived today. I knew what to expect as I've purchased bare root strawberries before. At first glance they will look dead they are definitely not if you look closely at mine you will see a new shoot on all the plants. This is the best way to purchase your plants. The first thing to do is to hydrate them so pop them into a bowl of warm water for at least 2 hours before planting them. After giving them a good soak I potted mine up straight away. I've put 2 to each of my troughs as shown in my video. This will allow them plenty of root space.Mine are in a sunny spot so I will need to make sure they don't dry out.If you are planting them in individual pots I would suggest one plant per 7 to 8 inch pot. Again because they need good root space. If you are planting in the ground plant 18 inches apart choose a sunny sheltered spot.Once they get growing and start producing flowers they will need feeding this will encourage them to produce a good flavour and good size berry. I use tomatoe food as its high in potassium. Apply again in two weeks and again in another 2 weeks. They will need regular watering. Water around the plant base a mulch will help. This particular variety Marshmello is a strong and vigorous plant that produces delicious sweet berries. I have grown these before and they have been a great success. I have just had some sent to a friend to try.I would recommend these bare root strawberries. Please remember they will look dead on arrival and to give them a good drink.I do hope you found my review helpful.

Lovely and healthy looking
All 5 received are growing lovely and healthy. The roots need to be put in water for a hour before planting. One has even started to flower. I would recommend

Recovering Strawberries
Like a few others who have bought these, I can't say that the journey here has been kind to these plants. They were all sent elastic banded together, knocked around and by the time I opened the box, they were all covered in sand, dirt and dust and looking awfully dry. I immediately potted them as soon as they got here, gently cleaned all of the terribly dirty leaves, gave them a drink and thankfully, they seem to be recovering and growing new leaves as I type this review a week or so later.I have, for now, potted them in a few pots indoors in the hopes they recover more quickly and this much seems to have worked wonders. Despite looking awful on arrival, they have HUGE, healthy roots and they do appear to have bounced back quickly.I'm not sure I would order these again due to the quality they arrived in but I wouldn't not recommend them to others as they do appear to be quite healthy now.Currently they are too young to bear any fruit but I have no doubt that they will in future!

Check goods on arrival-imprtant.
I ordered 20 plants on April 14th. They arrived quickly on April 16thand looked very good. However, only 17 arrived. I emailed GardenersDream and rec'd a reply asking for a photo. I replied telling them plants that already planted so just forget it. Another email arrived thanking me for my comments about the quality of the plants and advising me that further discussions with 'the team' would have to be made to decide on a solution to the problem which might take a bit of time. That was 5 days ago. Nothing since. If you do buy these Strawberries the my advice would be to check everything carefully and if anything not right then return them straightaway. The planed ones are actually starting to show signs of growth already. A shame that they're 3 short/ยฃ2.85's worth short.

Lovely Little Plants
I ordered 12 of these and planted them in early June. I was doubtful I would be able to grow any strawberries this year as it w as quite late to plant the crop. However, the strawberries have been growing beautifully and I have harvested 1 which ripened and it was lovely and sweet.I also will include how I have been growing as I read some other reviews and they were very helpful.I first soaked the roots in cold water for 24 hours. Once soaked, I prepared a rectangular plant pot (around 50cm in length) with drainage holes and placed compost soil into it, making sure to firm the soil as I went along. I did 3 strawberry roots per pot but I recommend doing 2 at most as the pot can become a bit crowded for 3 plants.I then watered the plans every day, making sure not to overwater. The soil should only be moist on the surface. I watered them with tomatoe power grow fertiliser each week. Once they started fruiting, I am using fertiliser twice a week as the plants use a lot of nutrients to grow their strawberries. My shoots also started growing in 4-5 days after planting and the pots being placed in a location of good sunlight in my garden. The fruit has taken around 1 and a half months to grow.Just be mindful that if you want a really good harvest next year, you can try pinching off the white flowers when they have bloomed and you will not have any strawberries this year. This will just allow the root system to establish itself.

I bought these in March 24, I was a bit concerned when they arrived at how small they were but I followed instructions and the plants soon bounced into life, lost 2 plants but there were more than 20 in the bundle. The advice was that they wouldn't have much fruit for the first year and would fruit properly in a years time. How right they were, the amount and size of the fruits this year is amazing so I would highly recommend.

Amazing service.
Arrived a day Earlier than expected - which meant that they spent the night on the doorstep!Actual bare roots were in excellent condition. I soaked them for 30 mins before potting them. 3 days later, all but one had healthy new leaves.Great product, excellent service.Thank you.

Not quite what I expected
They all had really long, strong roots. I just didn't realise that they would have no tops at all. I chose these strawberries as I had seen them on Beechgrove Garden. they, however, had small plants and not just roots. I have planted them, but I have had to mark where they are planted so that I don't disturb them until they grow some tops.
