Works well and exact fit

Just what I needed when changing the fuel tank, tank support, and straps on 1997 K2500 pickup. I had purchased other 'U' clip & metric bolts ($$) before I had seen these which I will use. Far better since the clip will be a proper fit to frame member thickness and bolt end is designed to easily guide into the nut. UPDATE: Finished install of new fuel tank - as expected with new straps, need to bend as tightly as possible to tank to get bolt started.

These bolts were a nice length, slightly longer than the original ones that I took out of my 05 GMC envoy. The design of them actually aided me in getting the straps on. I tried with the original bolt, but couldn’t get it to grab the threads. Pulled these out of the pack even though they didn’t specifically say they were for my vehicle. The thread pitch was identical, and with the different design on the head, allowing me to force the bolt forward. Rather than the bolt moving back in the socket, since the original only had a washer on it rather than the wider head like this one does. Plus the extra half inch or so of length really helped me get the boat started. Oh, and my envoy was not one of the vehicles listed in the item description as being compatible. But they are and worked quite well. I only use the bolt itself though. I couldn’t say how much trouble it would be to get the clip nut in the place if you had to since I didn’t try to.

Ordered this Dorman 55157 Fuel Tank Strap Hardware Kit for a 1994 Chevy 2500 with the 35 gallon tank. The kit looks identical to the original except the bolts are shorter than my original bolts and I was barely able to get a few threads to hold. Every place I looked this part up said it would work I guess it must be due to the large tank.
