Review: Fantastic quality and fantastic product - A little background. I am an amateur swimmer and so I've never really gotten into swimming. A scary experience when I was younger had swayed me from swimming so I took up lifting weights instead. Well fast forward a few years, and knee surgery later I needed a new outlet in terms of staying in shape and staying healthy. I decided it was time to try swimming. I'd heard all the fantastic health benefits and so decided to make a habit out of it. Eventually I got pretty decent at swimming but chlorine kind of burns the eyes... At that point I needed to pick up some goggles. I'd known other more well known brands but always found friends complaining about their quality and their lack of comfort. After a couple of days research, I decided on these. Possibly the best decision I've made in terms of swimming equipment. First off upon purchase. The product comes in a nice plastic case which I continued to use upon purchase. The case was sturdy and so after I'm done swimming, I just toss them into the case. Upon examination of the labels on the package, the product is made in Italy. Upon opening the package, I decided to get a feel for the product. It seemed well built and upon stretching the elastic of the goggles, it seemed quite durable. I tried them on right then and there and found the goggles were rather tight at first, but the straps on the side were quite easy to adjust with a snapping sound to indicate it is securely in place. If you want to simply loosen it, you just push down on the button and pull the goggles to lengthen them. If you have a smaller head like myself (small noggin), the little flaps get longer and so they can start like flapping around and could potentially become irritating. Simply tuck them into the little "bridge" (Sorry don't know how to describe what I'm referring to) that is available so they don't flap around. After adjusting and making them comfortable, I fit them on. I did also want to comment that the back band is a single band as it wraps around your head, but towards the back it splits into two which I felt was much more comfortable. (I hope that made sense. I'll try to upload a picture if I get the chance if no one has yet) The goggles provide almost full use of your peripheral vision, which has become surprisingly useful when swimming in a packed swimming pool. The plastic material of the goggles eye wear seemed durable and I confirmed that by scratching them with my nail and luckily no scratches came to be. The Test! Finally I had a free day to go swimming. Upon entering the water, I put the goggles on and secured the them onto my face. My biggest concern at this point was that the goggles which if you press down onto your face will give a suction feel to them and secure in place. I was worried that due to my rather bushy eyebrows, the goggles would not secure in place well enough and would allow water to go in. So excited when I started swimming and could see without having chlorine burn my pupils! So I guess in accordance with what I'm trying to say, is that they should secure and fit well on any face regardless of the contour of your face. In the water, moving fast or slow the goggles stayed tight and and did not loosen or allow water to enter. I did also want to note that I have dropped these goggles a couple of times, and they did not sustain any damage to them. Whether you're an amateur just starting to swim, or a regular, I would highly recommend this product and would definitely purchase it again!
Review: Great goggles, definitely my new favorites. - I bought five pair of goggles recently because last summer I really wanted some and didn't have any. I got a couple with built-in nose covers and I don't really like those. I got a couple that were very shiny and looked really nice (and they were ludicrously cheap when on sale, cheaper than a fast food burger rhyming with 'mig bac'). These goggles aren't necessarily expensive, either. Compared to a 'mig bac' they are more money but the other ones weren't usable. One had a hard plastic nose piece that cut into my nose when I wore them. The others were so small they went between my eyeball and the skull-bone-eye-socket so it felt like someone was gouging my eyes out. Also, one had a "quick release" feature made of the cheapest feeling plastic known to man. I can't be upset because it didn't break... yet. But I had no confidence that I could wear those goggles for years without any troubles and you don't really want goggles breaking while underwater. So, I finally bought these. First, the nose strap. It's rubber just like the head strap! What a marvelous idea! Why aren't they all like this!? Everyone has different shape faces and noses, if you make it rubber it allows the strap to contact your nose (or not contact it if you have a little nose) without any pain whatsoever. The straps adjust really easily with little lock-buttons on the sides, and they're pretty dang comfortable. I had my expectations pretty low due to the first few pair of inexpensive goggles but these are wonderful. I am a large male with a size 8 head. The only hat I have is a XXXL. I wear medium shirts, just have a huge head. These goggles fit both my head and my face. If you have a tiny head, I recommend finding a review written by someone with a small head to be sure they'll work. When I put these on, the next thing I noticed was the lenses. It felt like looking through sunglasses (mine were the black/black color). I highly recommend the tint if you are going to use these outdoors as I plan to. Indoors, I suppose that's just your preference.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can anyone of East Asian descent chime in regarding the fit of these goggles? Non-leaking goggles seem to be hard to find.**
A: I went through roughly 6-7 different sets of goggles (Speedo, Nike, TYR, and finally Aqua Sphere) 2 years ago before finding the Kaiman small fit goggle. It literally is the *only* goggle I've found that does not leak on me. I am of Filipino descent, and have very little "bridge" to my nose. I've used the Kaiman small fit for pool workouts ranging from 1,000-3,000 yds, as well as in several triathlon races. I own 3 sets.

**Q: Which of the Kaiman goggles would you recommend? The regular with 2 size options? or the womens Kaiman? I'm a female of average size.**
A: It really depends on the shape of your face. In my case, for instance, as I'm Asian, the regular size is good enough. I also sweat a lot and as the water prevents sweating in swimming in all water submersed parts of my body, I tend to have a sweaty face and the goggles usually slip if the adherence is not good. The Aqua Sphere products attend all my needs. The regular one is good for me. However, for my son (also Asian) the very smaller fit is better. My experience shows that females (Caucasian or Asian) prefer the regular one. When swimming, the best way is not to have a very tight goggle. I've been swimming for over 20 years (pools and sea). The only problem I was never able to solve is the fogging. However, the tighter you use your goggles the foggier it gets. Hope I've helped.

**Q: has anyone experienced blurry vision underwater with these?**
A: Yes, absolutely. Blurry underwater. combination of out-of-focus and double vision. Impossible to read my swimming watch underwater. I recon it is due to the curved lens. Trade off for getting wider field of view. They also fog up easily, but that has nothing to do with the blurry vision problem. Other than that they are comfortable and keep out the water with hardly any tension on the strap at all (for my face shape at least).

**Q: Are these goggles anti fog (pretreated)?**
A: Carly all Aquasphere goggles are treated with an anti fog, but the best way is to NOT dip any goggle in the water first and to start with a dry face. This helps reduce fogging early while swimming because anti fog is still not fog proof.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I don't use anything else.
*by M***Y on April 24, 2015*

I've been using these for over 4 years & always get the same pair, but I just recently found them here (was purchasing locally). They take a few days or a week to better conform to the shape of your face, then they are fine & comfortable for literally hours. They last me 6 months to a year with heavy use (usually about 3 hours a day & 3-5 days a week). For me they wear out one of 2 ways. The material decays & gets gross & sticky & makes your eyes itch (that only happened once when they lasted a year). Or the bridge of the nose collapses, the eyes separate & start to leak unless you tighten them. Eventually they get tight enough to give me an "ice-cream-headache" & then I know it's time to get a new pair (& give these away to someone that needs them & doesn't swim as long). I put them on as loose as possible while maintaining the seal (& not prematurely crushing it, it is very thick) to try to make them last longer. I suppose this was the ultimate test (For my endurance as well as the goggles.).-> About a year & a half ago I was able to swim 37 miles (2,605 lengths) in a pool in 17.5 hours with these in a single day. (According to my math- 1 mile = 70.4 lengths.) I might have looked like a racoon when I was done, but I don't remember them leaking or giving me a headache that day. Have a nice swim! :o) BTW- I always get the small & the color fades over the months, but that is only cosmetic. NOTE: Also, allow me to let you in on a little secret. I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo as an anti-fog. It is super cheap, often already available & not an eye irritant unlike some store bought anti-fog. Just put a drop on each side (about 1/2 the size of a dime), smear it around, rinse it off briefly (maybe 2-4 seconds), shake the water off, put them on & you are good to go. It clears off the rest of the way in about 5 minutes. (The girls also love the smell.) Try to avoid taking them off again & especially putting them on your forehead, that will only cause you to have to re-apply. Good Luck & have a nice swim.
