If a product works as it should, I give it 5 stars. (Stars for a product should have nothing to do with delivery speed or condition) I have run 15 tapes, each 60 to 90 minutes each. No issues so far. One thing I did was make sure I used fresh high quality in batteries. Don't skimp on the batteries and replace them if their running low. It makes a difference.

Leaving a 5 star so it comes to the top. If you can help it, don’t buy this. It broke after ONE use. The mechanisms inside broke themselves somehow when I tried to open it a second time. And now nothing will happen. Very disappointed that I spent $30 on this to use it once.

We bought this so we could play the smaller VHS C tapes on our VCR, this worked as promised and was durable, it was easy to use has a button that automatically opens the compartment that holds the smaller tape. I thought this was great value for cost and works as expected .

Had an issue with one of the tape extending arms locking in place. By holding outer door open I got it to lock in place. VHS played it flawlessly. Had difficulty in getting it to eject from VCR. Internal mechanism Broke on inserting 2nd VHS-C cartridge. Very poorly made transport mechanism for extending tape to work in VCR. It is going back! I would not recommend this unless you are handy and only have 1 or 2 tapes to play. UPDATE: After the first units failure I decided to exchange it for a second unit rather than getting a refund. Everyone(thing) deserves a second chance. The second adapter played one (1) tape flawlessly. It ate the second tape! This time it went back for a refund. Funny, this time I couldn’t return it to an Amazon location w/o boxing it for shipment. My only no cost option was a UPS store so instead of instant recognition of the return I have to wait for the UPS shipment to reach and be logged in by Amazon. Bottom line? Do not waste your time or $$ on this piece of junk!

First one we found that actually worked and didn’t eat up my tapes. The other brand we bought 3 times and none of them worked. It’s work paying the little extra to get your moneys worth that’s for sure

Its very expensive

Worked very well in playing all my VHS-C camcorder tapes, including a JVC tape that some info suggested wouldn’t be compatible. But a big word of warning - the cassette wouldn’t eject from my VHS player on the first time of use as the plastic flap which covers the tape was causing an obstruction and preventing the cassette mechanism from fully rising to the eject position. I had to manhandle the adapter out of my VHS player and then removed the plastic flap from the adapter. It ejected absolutely fine after that. I don’t know if my JVC VHS player was the issue, but the plastic flap is thicker than you find on actual VHS cassette tapes and this was enough to cause the obstruction.
