Works with Yamaha YST-MS50 Multimedia Speakers
My thrift store find, a Yamaha YST-MS50 multimedia speaker set with subwoofer, came with no cables. This 8-pin mini-DIN cable by Legrand works with it. The 10 ft length is perfect for locating the subwoofer under my desk and routing the cable properly.

Perfect for Yaesu 8 pin connector
Cut it in half & made an amp key cable for my Yaesu. And I still have a spare.

Works to link dual DJ CD player to its control panel
I purchased these cables for use with a rack mounted DJ dual CD player remote control unit. (The control unit and dual CD players are mounted separately and require control cables for each player in the unit.) I was apprehensive because I wasn't sure if the original cables were proprietary, but I'm happy to say these work great! I can now use equipment I got at auction and was afraid I would not be able to use due to no cable.

Do your research - Mini-Din 8 is NOT wired consistently across manufacturers!
cable is good and works correctly when in proper application.however, in trying to troubleshoot why this cable wasnt working for me, I discovered there is more than one implementation of the Mini-Din 8 wiring specification, and everybody does it differently - you MUST research your application to ensure it is using the "standard" MD8 for this cable to be right for you. For example, if you're connecting old mac computers, or midi interfaces - this is NOT the cable for you!I am using a 6' MD8 cable currently to network two computer MIDI interfaces, Mark of the Unicorn Midi Time Piece AVs. I bought this 10' to give me more flexibility in the cable run and it did not work. upon doing more research, I found that I require an "ImageWriter II" cable to make this work, which apparently swaps two pins at each end over standard MD8 configuration. This is why these cables will not work for me.the alarming thing is that if you look into the manufacturers catalogs - they do make both kinds, but frequently make no distinction between the two or that the detail should be paid attention to. Look up Monoprice 517 and 522 for an example of this. This cable works perfectly fine and does its job - it simply did not work my needs.

Does not work.
I bought this cable to daisy chain RS-232 control between two of my AVIPAS PTZ cameras. I have a 100 foot cable that works fine. However these two cameras are right next to each other so I purchased this 10 foot cable for a neater installation. It does not work. The 100 foot one does. Perhaps I have the wrong cable, but from all the research I did this 10 foot cable should work. Very disappointed

Works for my Harmon Nova 2.0 Speakers to connect L - R audio
Finding a mini din 8 to match whatever proprietary cable your speaker company gave you can be quite the headache sometimes. The one has worked perfectly for my Harmon Nova 2.0 desktop speakers...thats literally the only reason I bought the cable and the only criterion for this review. So its getting 5 stars ez.
