There is a medium for exactly that purpose called Digital Ground. You brush it on your paper, let dry, and run through ink jet printer. **Q: Can it be used on watercolor paper?** A: Transparent Watercolor Ground is meant to create a surface that replicates a watercolor paper surface, so there is no purpose in using it on watercolor paper. However, if you wish to paint watercolor on canvas, the watercolor ground will work well. **Q: is this like using gesso with acrylics to cover mistakes? Can it cover mistakes you make on your watercolors and allow you to paint over it?** A: Yes it is a type of gesso and yes, it does cover mistakes, however, unless you use several coats, it is a bit transparent. I used it to paint out a lake (that looked really bad) and replace it with a meadow. It worked quite well. I would try and lift your watercolor first, then use this product. The little jar goes a long way too. Pretty cool product for watercolor artists. **Q: Can this be used to somehow repair a pea-sized hole in Arches 140 cold pressed paper?** A: Watercolor ground may not form a self sustainable layer matching with such high quality gsm paper. I can suggest that you can paste a small piece of paper from back of the hole and then fill it up with this ground from main side. Quality is fantastic.
