As you can see after reading my review i use these bags for everything lol. 5 of our bags have taken a bit of a beating and they are being replaced at no cost. Update 2/19/2019 We have been on 3 cruises and over 35 flights ( I travel a lot for work) since my last review. I wish there was a way to add just one more star Almost 2 years later 4 of my bags have broken and I would still add an extra star because they have exceeded my expectations. Not only do I travel a ton I started using the bags in different ways. If one of your bags is getting "ratty" so to speak you can use it for shoes. YES shoes put your heels or sneakers in grocery bags then organize/vacuum . This has been a game changer for us because well my wife wants to fly with every shoe she can but always fears them being damaged. Cruise-update As you may or may not know everything you pack in these bags gets wrinkled beyond belief so we hang everything in the shower and let the steam work for us. Pillows- If you dont like using them where you travel the bags do wonders for packing one or even 2 easily for a trip Moving - Be creative - I only wish I had these every time Ive moved you can literally pack your entire closet. No more boxing a few items at a time Dress clothes- If you have suites or dresses fold them ( if you don't already know learn how to fold a suit jacket -youtube) then place everything that is nice in one bag **do not vacuum** let just enough air out so theres a kind of air cushion. You can thank me later !! Lol Travelling from warm to freezing environment- stuff your goose down jacket in the smallest bag and throw it in a carry on. And finally hiking/camping / kayaking - we are outdoor people and I use the vacuum bags for every situation. If you canoe or kayak you've been missing out they keep everything organized but also "dry" . When camping and hiking I've used these to keep clothes dry and small enough in my pack along with shrinking my sleeping bag and keeping it from the elements. Ok that was a complete brain dump - I hope this helps even 1 person -------------------------------------- save tons of space. we travel a lot and these are amazing. If your a cruiser like us these bags are perfect. **tip** 1. the hand pump is ok but tiring to use. the vacuum method is the way to go. with that said when your leaving from your cruise just grab the vacuum form house keeping they are always around. Re-pack your belongings and your good to go. 2. if you like to buy liquor when your travelling and you don't have a fancy bag to put the bottle in. these bags are small and can fit anywhere when not filled up. toss a bottle in that's wrapped in a couple shirts or a towel. Something that wouldn't be ruined if the bottle did break. Do the old hand pump method "I don't suggest vacuuming this" and now your bottle is fly ready. This has worked for me several times!! Good Luck!! oh ya and the company is awesome if the bags don't work out they will work with you on return or replacement.

Good product. THICK. Seals stay shut. I have Antique linens in these. They have kept perfectly for two and a half years so far, in my garage, in the Pacific North West!!! Other brands were too thin. These are the best!

I bought these to replace my Space Bags (now owned by Ziploc) because most of my Space Bags quickly and easily cracked and leaked.* I only have two complaints: 1. One is not a big deal - it's just that the bags are not marked as what size they are, so if you are looking for a certain size you have to stop and measure it to know which one it is (unless you're really good at eyeballing size, which most people are not). 2. My other complaint is that one of the bags had an instant leak due to a defect in the valve. I fixed it with a piece of Gorilla Tape , but I should not have to do that with a new item. I know this can happen from time to time but it should be caught in the factory (I could see it easily before I even tried to use it) so I took away one star for poor quality control. I used these to pack up emergency GO BAGS for each family member and the dog, with blankets, pillows, clothing, meds, food, and other essentials. This way all essentials are packed and ready to go in case of an earthquake or tsunami (very possible where I live), and they are all stored compactly with no worries about bugs, mold and mildew while in storage. And of course these bags will be just as useful for basic storage or travel. Highly recommended. But, if I find they leak over time or crack easily while being handled (like the Space Bag brand often do), then I'll come back here and update my review. ~~~ * I think these Space Saver bags are thicker and a little more pliable and so don't expect them to crack and leak like Space Bags do, but I realize this is difficult because any bag of this kind must be made of stiff plastic in order to hold in air and lock out moisture. Bags that are too soft and pliable cannot hold in air and block out moisture due to the way plastic is made. And the softer the bag the more chance there will be a chemical reaction with the contents, which can cause a yellow or green caustic film to attach to anything inside the bag. It's all pretty complicated, but having worked in an industry that used plastic storage bags regularly, I learned these things. So, my experience tells me this product should hold up much better than Space Bags brand by Ziploc Ziploc Space Bag, Flat, Large, 3 Count . One last note - if you're going to store something of high value I would make sure it is first wrapped in a protective covering that is not made of plastic. I suggest a cotton sheet or plain acid-free paper. This will insure no chemicals from the plastic will leach out onto the item over time. If you have questions about possible chemicals in the plastic I suggest you write to Spacesaver Corporation and ask about it.

I had purchased some for a move in 2021 they were great. I was nervous about some of the most recent reviews, however, this product is FANTASTIC! I was able to clear out a very significant amount of space using these bags to store winter items. You can use your vacuum on a low tool setting to seal quicker. Very happy with my purchase! Will buy again!

I'm so glad i got these for my move. The medium size is prefect for my needs including twin and queen size bedding. I dont know how many uses ill get but so far they seem well made and the zips are strong and not horribly annoying and impossible to seal. The main reason i wanted to leave this review though was for my fellow MCS people or anybody who is just super annoyed or sickened by the presence of smells/perfumed fragrance in practically everything these days. These bags i was SHOCKED and overjoyed to find, do not have a perfume smell or a particularly strong prastic/chemical smell. yaay! i honestly couldnt believe it. i am very sensitive to these smells and so i figured i was going to have to figure out a way to not let them contaminate my clothes for example (because often these odors transfer) but happily it was no issue. THANK YOU to the company and I hope they never change that!

Before I launch into the full product review, you must understand something about me. I am a clothing fiend! Between you and me, I have way too many clothes, and my apartment will only fit so much in its closets. I purchased these bags as a way to condense my clothes, especially when the seasons change. My plan was to purchase these, fill them up with seasonal items, and store them in my closet until the time came to take the clothes out again. I purchased these in May - so I was switching from winter to summer - and waited to review them after a few months on purpose. I noticed some of the reviews on here mention that the bags exploded. I wanted to see if these bags would actually hold the clothes and keep them flat in my closet. Months later, I'm happy to finally review these bags. First of all, these are probably the largest space vacuum bags on the market. Seriously, they are huge! They really are for blankets and pillows, and I knew I bit off more than I could chew when I purchased this size. However, they did a great job store in both my winter clothes and blankets. As I mentioned earlier, I have a ton of clothes, so two of these large bags accommodated just my winter clothes. The other four were used for pillows and blankets. I purchased these bags in May, and promptly stored my clothes. It is now November and I am happy to say out of the six bags, only one bag exploded. When I say exploded, I actually mean re-inflated. However, five out of six successful attempts is a good enough percentage for me! The three bags in my closet are currently still vacuum sealed. The other three bags were given to my mom for blankets and pillows. One out of those three re-inflated, but I really think it is my fault because I overstuffed it. That's what you have to understand about these vacuum bags. They are not invincible and do have a limit. You must make sure to follow the directions and use the bag correctly. You should not overfill them - in fact, over filling them will lead to reinflation - and you must make sure to listen for any leaks upon initially sealing them. Again, this is all in the directions, but I do feel like some people try to use these without following through actions, hence the negative reviews. Like I said, these Space Bags are very large and will probably fit in those very large suitcases, so if you're interested in condensing space for travel, these may be the bags for you. They are very beneficial for storing pillows and blankets. As long as you follow the directions on the package, you should have no problem using these!

One 40” x 30” bag held several thick microfiber and “tapestry” type throws that I’m not using right now but I want to keep them for future use. They’re thick and bulky; I think I put seven of them in one bag. It’s flat enough to slide under my bed or couch so storage is easy and dust-free. The hand pump included was totally useless. No instructions with it but seemed like no brainer: remove the cap on the seal, screw on the pump, then pump the handle up and down. After several minutes I didn’t see any results at all so I put it aside and used my vacuum cleaner. And a note about that. I have a Shark Navigator Lift-Away (a few yrs old) and it doesn’t have a nozzle that will fit this bag’s valve. Fortunately I saved a connector from another vacuum from long ago thinking it might come in handy one day. Today was that day. It slid right on the vacuum’s hose end while the smaller end was the perfect fit for the valve on the bag. It worked great and the bag was deflated in seconds. So maybe keep that in mind and check to see what your vacuum has. I attached two pictures of the adapter I used as well as two pictures of the size of the valve opening using a ruler. Your vacuum hose needs to fit snugly around that. Also not very clearly pictured is a clear round tag that I dated and attached to the bag. That will let me know how long the bag stays sealed. I didn’t want to start marking on the bag as I expect to reuse it multiple times. I can peel the tag off easily but that’s not a big deal if you don’t have anything similar. You could use masking tape, etc., if you wanted to do the same. The bag does seem sturdy and the zip closer is strong but make sure it’s closed tightly. I pressed firmly and ran my fingers over it end to end several times to make sure it was sealed. The cap on the valve is very easy to use and screws on quickly so no air gets back in the bag. Make sure you screw the cap on straight; if it goes on crooked it will let air back inside the bag and reinflate. Right now I’m happy with it but time will tell. I gave it four stars on easy to use because of the pump. If anyone knows “the secret” to that or what I might be doing wrong, I’d be interested to know. The pump would be great to take on a trip along with some smaller bags as it’s plastic, very light, and only about 9-1/2” long. But not so much if it doesn’t work. I’m curious to see how it holds up long term.

Based on the reviews I had read, I purchased 4 of the Jumbo vacuum bags. How disappointing. They DO NOT maintain their vacuumed state as reviewed. I have tried everything including reducing the amount in the bag to 1 x standard pillow, however fail within 2 days!

Not all bags sealed well. Have used vacuum bags from Kmart, which were cheaper, bigger and much better quality !
