Water & feed in one
A friend told me about this system, so I thought I would try it. It is so much easier than mixing buckets of plant food in water & hand watering. You still have to mix plant food, just not as often & no hauling buckets & watering cans around to all my flowerbeds.

Very useful
So easy to connect and use. It works great. My only issue is that I would like to have some way to control the mixing ratio.

Beware of the turtle
The instructions state to install the rubber turtle curve side down. First, there is no hole in the turtle to force the spring into the turtle. Get a drill so you can drill a hole in the turtle for the hose spring. Second, it doesn't say how far to insert the hose into the turtle. Since it is a spring and if it is above the liquid level, it would be sucking in air, so my guess is to but the turtle up to the rubber hose.

This works well to inject fertilizer for a manual hose.
I have this inline on one of my irrigation feeds and found that it was prone to clogging. But this was partly my fault as it was unattended on large fertilizer vat that began to grow algae and precipitate. While i could unclog it with a over night soak in vinegar, the provided screen is not sufficient to protect the intake as it lets particles through. A fine air stone worked but in the end i lacked trust. My field tanks are reliability cruddy by end of season. So replaced it with a no clog positive pressure device out of an abundance of caution.I use this now on my hose on the deck and in the yard grow opperation. In this role it is perfect. I added a quick connect to both sides to easily place it in line with my various watering wands and hoses as i walk the grounds and make or break connections. I wear a fertilizer/chem tank. I and added a valve to that tank. I can water, and switch to chem whenever i want on demand should i see a need as i walk the grounds. So much better that how i did it before.i gave 4 stars, while it failed in one role, and that was my fault. It turned out superb in one a role i had not anticipated.

Incredibly Restrictive To Flow
Incredibly restrictive! The output aperture can't be bigger than 1/4" or maybe 5/16". It takes me 4 times as long to water my plants compared to without it, and 2 times as long compared to using the yellow plastic siphons out there. On the plus side, this item is well built and does not leak. It does work, but takes way way waaayyy too long to water with it.

Works great in med-high flow situations.
Works great! Watch out however....does not work in low flow applications. I have a easy to retract spiral hose in the back yard, and it restricts the flow too much and this siphon does not draw ANY fertilizer at all (note in instructions warning me). So, I simply moved this unit to my front yard....and it rocks.

works well, dependable ... doesn't last forever
Works very well ... for a while. I've used these for decades, and they are quite dependent ... until they just stop working properly at somewhere between 2 and 3 years. MUCH better in terms of reliability than the cheaper plastic alternatives.
