Great little bed
Bought this as we have tried the PeaPod tent bed, and the Regalo portable cot. We travel a lot, and needed something that isn't too huge. For the PeaPod, for some reason Toddler #1 wouldn't get in, and even if he did we found that the mattress crunched so much in the night, it woke him up. PeaPod was also a bit of a hassle to fit in a normal sized suitcase. The Regalo cot was fine, but it's also a hassle to fit in the suitcase. Yes, we could have checked extra baggage, but when you're already carrying 2 carseats, a double stroller, changing bag, own bag and a suitcase, another bag doesn't seem logistically very possible. So, on to the train bed. We have tried it at home to see if he'll use it. Now, sometimes he actually requests to sleep in the train bed. Big plus on him getting used to it before we travel. Based on our previous experiences, I didn't have very high hopes for this train bed, but I have been 100% surprised. The mattress isn't noisy at all, we don't inflate fully, and it's comfy enough that he wants to sleep on it. Basically, the bed does what it should, and folds down to a size easily ok for a suitcase. The pump takes a while to fully inflate the bed, but it's light and travel friendly, and we have another pump at home if I'm that desperate when we're not in a hotel. I easily prefer the hassle of the pump as opposed to a larger one and worse travelability. For the actual bedding, it's mainly Polyester. Not great in terms of having a sweaty child, but again more than ok for travel use. Portable bed does exactly what it should, no complaints here.

Sweet Dreams!
I had been debating for a while what kind of bed I should get for my 2 year old son knowing that he was quickly growing out of the pack n' play. A quickly planned weekend away was the push I needed to make a decision. A few reasons helped me to decide on the Thomas Readybed. The obvious reason was, of course, that my son LOVES Thomas. However, I didn't want some cutsie, overpriced sleeping bag. I wanted a durable air bed that was compact and easy to pack. Also, because my son still sleeps in a crib at home I wanted some sort of side support.Well, the Readybed did not disappoint! It came in a matter of a few days and my son couldn't wait to get into it as soon as he saw the box! I was still nervous how he would be when we went away but he fell asleep and slept all night in a new place! He was even a bit sad when we had to roll it up to go home. Now, there are a few cons to add. 1) I do wish it had a motorized or automatic pump, but it probably wouldn't be as light and compact. It actually didn't take as long as I thought to pump up the bed. My son was even eager to help. 2) The material for the top blanket could be a little nicer and softer. It does wash nicely though if you follow the instructions. I think I even used extra precaution and used the delicate cycle. I let it air dry overnight and it was dry by morning.I should probably add that my son is 2.4 years old and of average height. I think I can see him using this bed for another 1-2 years. We tend to go away a lot for quick weekends and to visit family overseas so I think it was a good investment for us.Would I pay the full price? Probably not. I was lucky enough to get it at half the regular price with free shipping.Bottom line, if your child needs a travel bed and loves Thomas then you can't go wrong.

Price a lot higher then it should be
I definitely thought it would be more then it is. Seems cheaply made. For the price I expected more. If I had only paid $25 instead of $50 I'd feel ok about it. As is I feel ripped off. First time I've felt this way about anything I purchased off Amazon.I also didn't realize it is a blow-up. The fabric that covers the mattress is very thin, it may last longer then it looks like it will ( I feel like it may fall apart on the first wash ) it may be just fine, but at first glance it is disappointing. I wouldn't buy in hindsight, nor would I have purchased it if I had seen it in a store.

This is a HUGE disappointment. I read the reviews before buying
This is a HUGE disappointment. I read the reviews before buying, so I knew that the bed would be small but was okay with that because my 3yo is very small. He needed a bed to sleep in at his grandparents as he spends one weekend a month there and had outgrown the pak and play but was not ready for one of my mother's lofty beds. It seemed like the perfect solution. It arrived and my son loved it. It was great the first weekend he used it and it served it's purpose perfectly. After one weekend of use it wouldn't stay inflated. I found a large hole where the seam had given way and patched it. The very next time he used it, it deflated again. I found a new hole on the other side on a seam. I patched that. Now the bed is hole free but deflates anyway. It's pretty much useless for all intended purposes. an inflatable pool lounger with a body pillow cover would be much cheaper and probably much more durable. BIG, BIG WASTE OF MONEY! Should have gotten a sleeping bag.

My toddler loves it but it's deflated twice in the first 6 months
I started my son at 18 months in this toddler bed and he didn't like it the first night but has grown used to it. Then I moved him to the toddler bed in his crib. This portable bed is great for travel. Doesn't have to be blown up if left as is for a while. I do find him on the floor sleeping next to the bed sometimes but I think this is great and very handy for travel.Update-the insert has a whole in it or something. First time it happened I reached out to the markers and they sent me a new insert (air mattress) free at no charge. It worked for a while and now same thing. It won't blow up so it's used as more of a blanket vs a bed. I wish it was more sturdy as my son loves it but twice in a year indicates there may be an issue with it. My son does not jump on it nor is he oversized or heavy.
