Watch the shipping.... Great gate otherwise.
As far as the gate itself, I haven't found a better product. We are using the gate as a dog barrier to keep our bull terriers in the kitchen. They provide enough hardware to mount the gate onto substantial surface like wood or similar. For those who are looking to install on drywall, you may want to purchase different screws, toggles or something similar. We fastened ours into a wood doorframe and it SOLID.As for the locking mechanism that a few have commented on, we don't have any concerns here with it. There's a swivel catch that swings over the latch; I guess it's a way to child-proof opening the gate... If you don't need the child-proof feature you can defeat the safety by just grinding the rivet off and trashing the swivel [I did and you'd never know it was there], or just flip it up and out of the way and superglue or hot glue it there. As for the packing, HORRIBLE! Amazon has some serious issues if they think the way they are shipping these out is adequate. The shipping box was the box that you would find this in if you were buying it at Target. By no means is this a shipping box. It would be like Amazon throwing a address label on a CD and dropping it in the mail without putting it in box... Unbelievable, our gate came with the box split open, half hanging out and the foam packing blowing around the yard. Fortunately, nothing was lost or missing.

Sturdy gate
There is a little lock at the top that I taped out of the way so I don't have to unlock it every time. The spring makes noise so can't be stealth when opening. Otherwise, a very quality gate.

Worked like a Charm - Just what we were looking for...
GREAT PRODUCT - We are using it outside to help corral our 4-legged K-9 'kids' on the porch. Need to have 2 of them, but bought one to see how well it would work. We are VERY HAPPY with it, the spring latch rod works great; easy to use, yet strong & sturdy enough to provide peace-of-mind. It is easy for people to use, yet impossible for our 'kids' to push or jiggle to get out. We were looking for a metal gate to be used outside so it was important that it was not only sturdy enough to last, but also wanted to make sure it had a powder or rubber coating to protect the metal. This gate is sturdy and works great for our purpose. Have had it in use for a couple weeks, we are very pleased, and just ordered another one for the other end of the porch. Our ONLY ISSUE has been the small mounted bracket the spring-latch rod locks into. Because we are using it outside and the gate is fastened to green pressure treated wood that twists as it dries, the little bracket had to be adjusted with the drying/twisting wood. Problem was simple to fixed - replaced the little bracket with a heavy screw-in eye bolt that can be adjusted quickly and easily as needed. WORKED LIKE A CHARM. We are certain when installed where the manufacturer intended way, that no modifications would be necessary. GREAT PRODUCT would highly recommend it.

Well designed swing gate for indoor
The Cardinal Gate is a well designed swing gate that attaches directly to the wall. I purchased two of these to use as a dog barrier for my growing dogs. I did not want a tension gate, as larger dogs can easily knock them over. These gates work perfectly. They enable you to unlock the gate with a single hand. They are strongly built and make a nice presentation. I only have a few recommendations for the company. I did not use the included screws because the threads are so thin, I believe they would not work well for grasping wood. I replaced them with outdoor wood screws, which worked well. The hex screws for adjusting the width of the gate should be a little longer. The space between the two rails is almost too large for the screws to make a strong connection, without passing through the screw hole. They work, but it is close. You might consider these changes next time you build. Otherwise, it is a very nice and durable gate.

Get two and stack for jumpers!
Exactly what I needed and here's why: My dog can jump every baby gate on the market. I refuse to crate him. I wanted to block off my kitchen (where they have a dog door to yard) from the rest of the house where they get into things when I'm gone. I nearly installed a solid door but really wanted something that could be removed when/if I sell house/move, and also wanted them to be able to see through. I did not want any gates with plastic parts and was concerned that the top gate would be really high & hard to unlatch. I wanted wall mount so that I didn't have to totally take down two pressure mount gates every day, plus many gates have a bar along the bottom so that wouldn't work for double stacking. Even more fun, my wall mount gates have a very small section of wall to swing open to, and these gates easily expand & retract width. LOVE these things!

Very sturdy
This is hands down a much stronger gate than others I have tried. Not quite as easy for me to install as I expected, but the method was sound. Not a big fan of the latch mechanism, but it has a learning curve.I would recommend the quality of this gate. Would probably buy another one if the need arises.

Best Gate Ever!
We have tried at least 3 different pet gates none of them inexpensive, and none of them lasted much longer than a year. The last had plastic panels that my Doberman busted in no time. This gate is all metal, uses two allen head screws (wrench included) to secure the panels together once they are slid apart to the desired width. The catch is spring loaded and metal and is easy one-handed operation. It can be set up to swing both ways or one way only using the stop. The only potential downside to some (not me), is that this gate cannot be swung closed, you must manually close this gate. Based upon this gate's design and structural integrity I expect it will last quite a long time. Well worth the money.

Strong gate, easy install
This is well worth the cost. Extremely sturdy, all metal parts very easy to follow instructions. I had it installed in less than 30 minutes. I installed it through drywall and into 2x4 structure. Tall and strong enough to keep my 7 pound poodle contained. I have a 25 pound cat...yes 25 pound huge Tom cat that jumps the gate and Iโve had no problems with the stability of the gate. Absolutely and completely happy with this purchase!
