It is quite roomy for a big cat like him. He can sit up or curl quite comfortably. Although he still cry a bit in it, he handles the stress better because of the visibility on three sides of the backpack. He might feel “at least I can see where we’re going.” I added a box layered with a plastic bag and some towels to avoid mess if he happens to have a bathroom accident while traveling. It is pretty sturdy for smaller cat, but as my cat is quite heavy not sure how long this will last but so far I love it! I have used it three times for short travels (vet and stay over visits) and so far so good. And he kind of voluntarily gets into it when it’s time to go. Which is surprising as he does not like to travel in general.
