I am a person with decades of experience with small tools and equipment. I am professionally more than qualified to assess the effectiveness of smaller/medium sized tools and accessories. I bought this kitchen Shark in the belief that it was as it claimed to be: A Good knife sharpener. I knew it’s dimensions beforehand and it’s non invasive space saving on my Kitchen worktops.After unpacking and properly setting it up on a clean, dust free, suitably prepared worktop, I put it to use with “standard” kitchen knives. In fact, I used only 3 knives as these where my main knives in preparing meals.Obviously I used the Kitchen Shark to assess its performance. It did sharpen my knifes though it did take more than I would expect, filings off my knifes. Of course this is to be expected, I am well aware of in sharpening utensils.I persevered with the Kitchen Shark though it’s effectiveness depleted after 3 weeks. I sharpened only three knifes over that period and not on a daily basis but circa 2/3 times per week. I know I had sharpened my vegetable knife on more occasions but certainly not excessively.The suction is good but my Sharks capability to get its “teeth” into sharpening my knifes has sadly become a problem.Of course I will and I do accept that we cannot fully guarantee Every piece of a mass-produced item. However, I would have thought this little appliance, so appraised in adverts, would have remained effective for at least a time/average life-span of tools.

I must admit choosing a knife sharpener is difficult with many sellers trying to convince the consumer that theirs is the best. I have previously bought a number of brands that are useless and don't work. I read the reviews on similar Knife Sharpeners and they all seemed too good to be true. I then impulsively clicked buy button thinking it wasn't a lot of money.When it arrived I was immediately apprehensive when I saw how small it was because I imagined it bigger. My apprehension was immediately lifted when I tried it. I tried my bluntest chefs knife which was ridiculously blunt and within a few slides it was unbelievably sharp. I am very happy and don't often give such long reviews however this product deserves a brilliant review, its simply amazing and really works.The unit comes in a blue/black colour with a very strong suction pad at the bottom to cling on to any suitable surface. you place the knife into the grooves, which again is made out of a very strong metal and slide it in the direction as shown. 1 or 2 slides should do the trick.Overall i was happy and so were my vegetables as the had the neatest cut in town :).I would definitely recommend.

I must admit, the sharpener was far smaller than I expected but does seem to do the job.I found that you do have to run the knives through the sharpener quite a fewTimes before they sharpen but this is probably because they were previously sharpenedat a different angle. However, Once sharp it seems much easier to obtain an edge.So far the little sharpener seems very good. I have situated mine upright on a tiledwall along side our kitchen units, seem to work fine.wall

Suction depends on the surface you use some are better than others, it could do with being a bit bigger so you can hold it as well. When you get going it does sharpen your knives but don’t forget to wipe your blade after use to clean the filings off.

The sharpener made an immediate impact on our kitchen knifes. We opted for this due to the reviews and costs of same. We will use for a while.. Though inevitably will need to replace the knifes eventually.Excellent Value for money.. Easy to use.. Good suction and outcomes

I bought a good set of kitchen knives last year and as I use them alot they started to go blunt. I ordered the kitchen shark product because of the great reviews. I am so glad I did. It is easy to use with good instructions. I like the way it stays steady and in situ making it safer to use. After using it the blades are now nice and sharp, just like new again. I like the fact that it small and compact as I don't have much room in my small kitchen! I will definitely recommend to my friends and family.

Only just received it and had a quick test, but it is smaller and more compact than the pictures would make you think; I view that as a positive as it won't take up much storage space! The suction seems very tight (I tried it on a smooth marble worktop) and the sharpener is extremely effective. Four or five pulls and my wife's favourite paring knife was sharper than it has been in months. Seems to be excellent value for money and very effective.

It is very neat and practical but I'm not sure it works very well. My knives are not very sharp. It takes a very long time to get a sharp edge.my traditional knife sharpener works better.
