I have an older Craftsman saw so I needed to get a splitter since it doesn't have a riving knife and I bought a new setup clearance table insert. This was easy to install, the instructions are detailed and easy to read and getting it done from me about half an hour after reading the instructions. This definitely helps prevent dangerous kickbacks and works really well with keeping the parts right to the fence as I cut. Couldn't be happier!

My husband brought this for the zero clearance throat plate on his 10" Craftsman table saw. The instructions are written for table saws with a larger area behind the blade than Craftsman. He had to call technical support and they were great! He was able to fit it to the saw and it works just as described. It prevents the wood from pinching the saw blade and "kicking back". It also acts as a mini- feather-board. A must have when a riving blade cannot be fitted. Good product - Good support - satisfied customer!

I am a woodworker of 40 years. I work alone much of the time and often thought of what would happen if.... My saw is an older model and never had a splitter. I have made many rips over the years and occasionally had a kick-back all because of no slitter on the saw. this is a great inexpensive safety devise. Easy to install. Also I recommend the Micro Jig push block system. It makes handling long or thin stock much safer. My saying is " if it doesn't feel right don't do it".

My old Grizzly 1023 had a splitter, but It had been taken off years ago. I know that without a splitter, there is a chance for kickback, but it was such a PIA for doing dado’s. I decided to update this old saw with a new blade and looked into adding a riving knife or perhaps fabricating one but the design of the saw didn’t allow it. My brother had just finished restoring an old Unisaw and he had put one of these on and said he liked it. I made a new zero clearance throat plate and using the jig from the kit, drilled the holes for the splitter which all went well. The splitter itself is offset so depending on which direction it i inserted, the clearance to the workpiece can be adjusted. It removes easily for doing dado’s which is a great feature. Two are included if one gets damaged or lost.

I had high hopes for this kerf keeper/splitter. I followed the instructions precisely, measure, marked and cut the installation board, mounted that per the instructions, and drilled the holes for the splitter once as per the instructions. Maintained the minimum two inch distance from the end of the ZCI, but when feeding a 5 foot pine board through the table saw the kerf keeper did not keep the kerf open, but squeezed the kerf keeper so tightly as the board was advanced through the saw that it pulled the kerf keeper up and bent one of the pins as shown in the photo. Disappointed in the lack of strength in the kerf keeper pins. I hoped for a better product. UPDATED REVIEW: I called the MicroJig support line and spoke with a support person that was extremely helpful. He offered a free replacement splitter and offer of an an upgraded model. I couldn't be more pleased with their customer service and support. MicroJig epitomizes what a responsible company should be. and I have not hesitations about recommending them highly. My table saw does not have a built-in riving knife and I found this product to be a reasonable choice to try. It's easy to install as long as you follow all instructions. It does prevent binding and reduces kickback after you make cuts and I may buy some others for various zero clearance plates.

I was given on old Craftsman table saw that was about as primitive as they come, 3hp and no splitter or riving knife. Yay! I installed this kit with a new zero clearance plate which made the saw more enjoyable and a lot safer to use. Well spent twenty bucks and the 10 minutes for installation. Just do it!
