Hard Steel, Good selection, Long shafts
About 1/2 the bits are a common phillips, flat or star of a variety of tip sizes. The other are odd shapes providing the "tamper proofing". I will probably never in my life use the those but the standard tips will get well used.I purposely used a phillips to try and strip out a steel screw. The screw gave way with no damage or breaking of the tip so it is hard steel. There are no instructions so I assume the yellow items, the magnets, are rubbed against the tool tip to magnetize and give a little convenient hold to screws. After some experimenting you just have to quickly pass back and forth several times the tip through the square opening without actually touching the sides. The tips then become magnetized enough to hold a screw..I like these long tips the best for reaching in deep holes and just for the leverage they provide.

Good selection of lesser-used bits
This is a great selection of lesser-used bits that is very handy to have in my toolkit just in case. It has some more "regular" bits too such as a Philips 1 and 2 and a regular slotted driver. Keep in mind this set has only bits – you have to provide your own driver handle. There are no instructions included on how to best use the magnetizers in this set. I just moved a bit back and forth in the slot and it worked fine. I tested a few bits with a paperclip to see if they were magnetized, and they were. Then I used the demagnetizer and the bits would not pick up the paperclip at all, so it seems to work great. The case is made of hard molded plastic. The bits fit very snugly in the slots. When I first opened the case there were a lot of loose bits, but I think that's because they weren't put in the case very securely from the factory. When I secured all the bits, they don't come out no matter how hard I shake the case. The only think I don't like about the case is that it makes a horrible loud clicking noise at the hinge when you open it. I like that each bit is engraved with what it is, and each bit has a corresponding labeled slot in the case so you can keep this super organized. This set is very handy and the bits are excellent quality chrome vanadium. Definitely worth the money!

A Good Set of Bits for a Variety of Jobs
Bottom line, for the price it's a good little bit set. For the money and amount of bits you get, it's a five stars. The box works well, is secure, opens easily and is thick enough to provide protection. The bits stay in place in the box. As an added bonus, you do not need gorilla strength to remove the bits from their holder as you sometimes do. They remove with ease but do stay secured during box movement. The bits are three inches long which is suitable to reach most jobs without needing an extension and these longer bits are less likely to disappear into the black hole of lost tools as soon as you set it on the work bench. The bits can be magnetized with one insertion into the positive side of the magnetizer to help with "holding" your hardware. Then they can just as easily be demagnetized with one insertion into the negative side of one of the two provided yellow magnetizers. If you're like me and put your bits into the same tool belt pouch as your screws, washers, nuts and a few M & M's for later, you'll appreciate the three inch length of these bits when digging around for one. The set contains the usual assortment of bits - phillips head, straight slot (slotted), star, (security torx) hex and a few of the less common bits like the spanner head and tri-wing which might come on handy if you find yourself repairing the space shuttle. There is no driver for the bits or directions for the magnetizers but what better directions than youtube. Each bit is engraved as well as the box for proper placement, accountability and ease of use.

Undo those screws that you probably shouldn't undo
If you fix things around the house you will know that some things don't want you to get inside them. This is to "protect" the contents from untrained engineers.Of course, that does not stop us wanting to get inside. This toolset has a fantastic array of different type driver heads to open just about anything. and the fact that you are reading this shows that you've already made up your mind that you are going to open up whatever it is that's trying to stop you from opening it up!so this review is superfluous. You want this, you know you want this, you know you are going to buy this! And you will not be disappointed. The array of different heads contained will open up pretty much anything. This also comes with a magnetizing and de-magnetizing tool which you will use more than you think you will.

A Comprehensive Selection of Bits
My husband loves and owns a lot of tools. Here is his experienced review: This is a really good set of driver bits. Edges are sharp and chrome vanadium steel is durable. One thing I noticed is the similar look to of some of the bits. Pozidriv, Phillips, Tri-Wing all look very much alike. My ignorance would call them all Phillips. Upon closer inspection, of the taper, edge length, tip, etc. there are subtle, but noticeable, differences. I have stripped out many a screw head by using the wrong size or shape. Hopefully, with this well-made quality selection of bits, that won't happen.I probably won't use the specialty bits often, but I remember when I needed a security torx, years ago, and had to pick one up at a price that cost about half of what this whole set costs. I'm sure that will be the case again someday but this time, I can probably find it in this handy set with a case and magnetizer blocks.
