Solved our issue and at a HUGE price savings from a H/C company. Had a buddy that does mechanical work install it. Took him 10 minutes and paid him $ 25

I bought this as a replacement for an original Goodman capacitor. This one has a slightly larger diameter and is shorter, but it worked flawlessly. System is back to normal!

Works great. It is a little bigger than the one in the unit. I just made a new strap and installed easy. The price was decent. I would buy again.

Compressor would not kick on but fan would operate. Had two codes: 82-thermal and 74-no 230volt to compressor. Swapped out capacitor with this one and we are back in the cool zone.

This Bojack capacitor is listed as a direct replacement for GenTech 97F9849. Functionally, it works as a replacement. However, the profile of the capacitor is shorter and fatter than the GenTech. Therefore, when you attempt to replace the cover over your outdoor unit's electrical components, the cover will not fit. In addition, the holding strap on the outdoor unit is not long enough to strap this fat version to your unit. In a pinch, the capacitor will suffice to get your home cool again while you wait for the GenTech to arrive. The overnight delivery of the BoJack version makes the twenty buck investment worth it while you wait for the genuine Gentech replacement to be delivered on a 2-day Prime delivery schedule. I will keep the BoJack in my spare parts collection to help me out next time. By the way, the original GenTech failed as it was designed --- the top of the capacitor can popped up when it failed, disconnecting the unit internally. When you are troubleshooting your own capacitor issue, look for that "popped" characteristic. The three terminals will all look slightly angled out rather than pointing straight up from the can.

Arrived by drone in an hour, fixed our old air con ourselves, working great.

Great price and works well

As long as you are matching the uF and going at or above VAC with your replacement dual capacitor, you really cannot go wrong. This particular capacitor was physically a little wider than the one it replaced, but all that necessitated was a larger clamp. I did get a little lucky with the top lid of the capacitor sitting perfectly on the clamp in my unit. Avoiding a service call after diagnosing the issue asking AI was well worth the price paid for the needed replacement. Please make sure that the breaker to the unit is off, you switch out the outdoor power "plug" before DIYing. Its also important to discharge the capacitor you are replacing before testing it with a multimeter or generally handling it.
