Happy artist
Well made frame. It tolerated my clumsy "carpentry" withot breaking. I've been painting on stretched canvas for a number of years but this is the first time I have framed one. I'm perfectly happy with the results.

Great for diplomas!
I received this frame today and couldn't be happier! I purchased it to hold my college diploma (yay!) and it's perfectly ornate enough to look "adult" but not stuffy or gaudy at all. Also, such a great deal for what it is. The frame looks super expensive, but it's perfectly affordable. I was a little concerned about the thickness of the frame, but the outsides are no more than an a half an inch. Another bonus, it comes with the mounting instruments, and the "teeth" on the back are positioned for it to be mounted horizontally OR vertically. If you're on the edge about purchasing, I hope this review persuades you into doing so! Great frame for a great price. Looks super awesome on a wall.

Nice
I bought this frame (8 x 12, gold) for a signed print I bought. The print itself is an awkward size at about 8 3/5 and 11 1/2. This was the second frame I bought for it, the first one being way too small. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to cut the picture down, as some frames come with a little bit of room to spare that the frame actually covers. Sadly, I did end up cutting about 1/8 off of each side mainly because I didn’t want to send back another frame but also because I think this frame size is the closest I would get to an accurate fit. It’s a nice frame, solid construction, and came packaged really well and frustration free! My print looks awesome and the frame fits in great with my other frames. I have no regrets and am thankful I found a frame in this size.

Cloudy plastic face sheet makes this frame unacceptable for quality photos
Update: The cloudy plastic face sheet was due to a protective coating on both sides. When this was removed the facesheet was clear. I have now rated this frame as five stars. It is an excellent value for the money. This frame is OK for postors, but not for quality photos. I bought the 30x20 size for a family group picture. The only major issue is that the clear plastic face sheet isn't very clear. It arrived quite cloudy such that brightness and color vibrance of the photo viewed through plastic was very diminished. It was not a surface problem as cleaning it did not help. I have to assume it the normal transparency for the materiel. If so its very deceptive say this frame is ok for photos.I considered buying a custom glass piece to replace the plastic but I don't think the frame is strong enough to support the weight of the glass. I eventually glued the photo to the cardboard backing with kids glue sticks and hung the picture in the frame without a face sheet. I hope the photo print survives

Excellent frame, couldn't be happier with mine.
Great looking frame and crafted with real word. The details are ornate. The corner seems are perfect. The gold paint looks wonderful, not as eye-catching as gold leaf, as it does seems a bit distressed. But for my purposes, it's perfect. The intend of a frame isn't to distract away from the artwork within, more so, to draw you toward it. Previously, while in college, I framed an exceptional poster in cheap gold thin plastic clip on frame. It looked find then, and it's what I could afford at the time. Well, years later, that poster couldn't look more spectacular.Regarding assembly, it took about 10 minutes to mount the poster. Take your time with the plexi-glass. You have to peel the protective plastic off both sides. I suggest putting on some "inspection" gloves to avoid fingerprints after you've started the plastic to first peel it off at one corner. The plexi-glass is flimsy (not cheap looking) and will bend around so you'll want to actually grab the plexi-glass otherwise it will just bend while you're pulling on the plastic film. Maybe not a big problem with smaller frames, but mine is 24"x'36". So you have to pull 6 sq. feet of film off each side, and the last thing you want to do is get fingerprints on the art side plexi-glass.This is the 2nd frame I've purchased from Craig Frames. The other one I purchased with matting. The matting was installed into the frame when I got it. Both are great and certainly a lot less pricey than buying a custom frame, but look just as nice. The only thing a custom frame would offer over these frames is actual glass. I selected matting with an opening about 1/4" under the size of the print. That gave me 1/8" on either side to play with. I just taped the print to the corner of the matting to keep it centered and placed a few more along the sides to keep the print tight. Worked perfectly.

VERY CHEAP, Not worth it. Frame extremely thin from what the picture looks like
I do events and was looking for a large gold frame for a wedding seating chart to be placed on an easel at the reception. We removed the frame from box, put seating chart poster inside, reclosed the backing of the frame, and then placed the frame on an easel. Upon picking it up at the end of the event, the corners separated and the frame itself was completely broken!!! Outside of that, the quality actually looks pretty cheap. The frame itself is really thin (the picture is kind of a misrepresentations) meaning you barely get any of the gold frame effect. And the front is actually a really cheap plastic that comes with very sticky plastic wrap on both sides, so good luck peeling that off without residue and without breaking the thin, cheap matte plastic. So yes it is light weight and cheap, but you get what you pay for. I would say it was a complete waste of the $40 I paid, since it broke. And then to top it off, the customer service is terrible. I understand companies have policies, but their product broke after one use, and they refused a refund. Save your money and find a gold frame elsewhere. If you wanted something that was low cost and looks good, this only hits one of those. It is low cost, but is cheap and looks SO CHEAP.
