These strings sound awesome! For anyone at any level.
I got a 000 sized Guild, rosewood back/sides. It does better with phosphor bronze strings. I have tried all kinds of strings, really, all of them, even some under the radar brands you probably have never heard of. When I cannot afford another acoustic guitar, GAS, I tend to do SAS, string acquisition syndrome. So really, I have tried all the strings, all of them...These JP PBs are superb, sounding and feel. The slightly lighter gauge, .11-.50, is fantastic. So easy to fret. I do not know re longevity yet, but I plan to leave them on a few months.I think I have found my go to string. Can't wait to put a set on my wife's Guild.

Outstanding string
Let me start out by saying, I NEVER write reviews. However, I could not let this go without being said. This string, and the John Pearse Lights, have absolutely revamped my playing. I was kind of in a stand still, trying string after string, with only mediocre results. I play a Martin OM-21 special, and although it was sounding fine, I felt like it was missing some mojo. Other strings made my guitars high-end a touch harsh and a little mashed together, if that makes any sense. I was particularly searching for a string that wasn't overly bright and beautiful, but rather something that had a little soul. This strings mellow tone and punch fit the bill perfectly. Not only that, but it really balanced out the sound of my guitar. I know that strings are a matter of opinion, and many opinions at that, but I believe you'd have to be crazy not to think these strings are anything short of spectacular. They sound like they're straight from a Neil Young performance. Anyhow, it's hard to put into common terms, due to the fact that everyone has their own way of describing tone, but just trust me, this string is worth the try. I don't see my OM seeing another type of string as long as John Pearse stays around.

Best Acoustic Strings EVER
I’m not sure why these strings are called “slightly light” which makes one think they are somewhere between light and medium - which they are not. John Pearse Lights are 12-53 and their Slightly Lights are 11-50. Maybe they should be called “Slightly Lighter Lights”?Regardless, they are the best acoustic strings on the market. Easier on the fingers, amazing tone, and decent longevity. They are more expensive but well worth it. I put them on ALL my acoustic guitars - they’re that good.

Good Strings !!!
So...first off - there is nothing as subjective as the sound (good or bad) of guitars and the subset to that of "guitar strings". Was at GC last week playing around with a Breedlove and i put it back saying to myself "Eh?". Totally not impressed. Another guy came in and picked up the same guitar and "LOVED" it. Same with Strings. we are all searching for that Holy Grail combination of guitar and strings. Thats why i cant give 5 stars to any string - because i havent found "The One" yet. Sorry for being long winded - just felt some background was necessary. So... put these on my Taylor 314ce and pleasantly surprised. Warm tone, good play ability, kept tune after the first 24 hours. Of course not as loud and punch as the Elixir HD Lights that i had on. My favorite strings have been Martin Lifespan Custom Light. These John Pearse are now a close second.Ive tried them all Elixir, D'Addario, Ernie Bal, Fender, I'll see how long they last.l

Best Strings Ever
I’ve been using John Pearse Medium weight strings for years. These slightly lighter made my HD-28 Martin much easier to finger with only a slight loss of volume and bass. Highly recommend.

I'm in love
I've heard two different sayings that I have taken to heart, the first being about "that instrument that draws the music out of you". The second is, "if it is the correct guitar for you, you'll play and practice more than you've ever done before". These Bill Pearse 550SL strings have turned my guitar into that kind of instrument. I feel that I have never heard such beautiful strings, nor have I ever found it so difficult to set my instrument down. I am enjoying attempting styles that I have never tried before and am becoming a better and stronger guitar player because of it. They are truly beautiful sounding strings.

Legitimately the best
I can't say much more than has already been said about these things; if you want your instrument to sound the absolute best that it possibly can, these strings will get you there.I'll add that beyond that, they are truly a joy to play. They feel great on the fingers and there is zero "breaking in" assuming you give them a proper stretch when you're stringing up. I'll never use anything else.

Did not last very long.
They sounded good for the few days I used them after that they went dead very fast. I will definitely stick with Ernie ball phosphor bronze half the price and they last longer.
