It is sufficiently loud. Very audible and works perfectly. Took me led than 5 minutes to install. Warning though, the sound is VERY directional. You basically want it to be pointing straight back and in the open for it to work best. Not behind the bumper pointed halfway downward.Now, i said it's audible. I would test it's ability to be heard anywhere workers are required to use hearing protection. I would probably suggest a louder one for that application but testing it first would also work. I run it on a 7.3L wrecker and it works perfectly and is very audible if you are behind my truck. It is very directional sound. So if want alarm forward and reverse on something like a bulldozer, you'll need two for both directions of travel.With that said, the sound and how directional it is is awesome. On my wrecker, i did a side-by-side with the factory beeper. Directly behind my truck, they are equally as audible. From the side of the truck the beeping almost loses nothing whereas this one's sound loses a noticeable amount of volume (as it's designed to do). From the cab, when i have my radio at conversation level, i can hear the beeping, i cannot hear this alarm unless i turn off down the radio. Same thing at the office. The office only hears this alarm if i back towards the building. The rest of the time they only hear the beeping. And that's what this alarm is designed to do. Only alert people in the danger zone. Very audible behind the truck, audible but it wouldn't catch your attention in front of the truck. I strongly recommend these. Due to the sound and directional nature of it, you don't tune it out like the beeping one. Anyone that hears this alarm immediately looks (when they're behind the backing truck) and it's been a week of use and no one's tuned it out. Normally I've had to use my horn for my coworkers because they tune out the beeping, with this they always look and always move. I love it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent alarm — extremely safe, but friendly to residential settings *by R***I on Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2016* I needed a new backup alarm for my work truck, and realized that I had an opportunity to upgrade. Early on many mornings, I have to back out of my driveway, and I was always worried about waking my neighbors up at 5:00 in the morning with the beeping. No one has ever complained, but I just think that they're being nice. Anyway, the Fleeti i-Reverse Sweeper alarm is the perfect solution. Primarily, it is an effective product — anyone standing in the danger zone behind my backing vehicle definitely knows it and can get out of the way. But instead of "beep beep beep", it emits a "shh - shh - shh" sound that's not only easier on the ears of anyone not in the way, but it's directionally-focused to concentrate the sound on the first area of concern behind the truck. If you're standing to the side, it's noticeably quieter, and if you're in the front, you can hardly hear it at all. (The supplier's homepage (fleeti.com) has a clickable sound file sample.) It's perfect for my use, and after only a week with it already, I simply can't understand why every residential services vehicle (especially those early morning garbage trucks) aren't equipped with these as well.
