Hi. would this remote work on my dmr-es35v that has a eur7659yf0 remote?

this remote works for model dmr-es35v but this remote does not replace the eur7659yf0 remote

before the remote is used the dvd recorder player it has to be tuned off and turned on again?

I simply put in fresh batteries and it worked. But I did read in the description that if it doesn’t work to “restart your device” so in that case I would turn off or unplug and then turn on again.
