Fashion Design Course Paperback – January 1, 2010

This book has the look inside feature so I will not go in to depth about the contents on this review. I adore this book for it's clarity and practicality. The text is concise-it's not too much to overwhelm and not to little as to confuse or leave wanting, This book is jammed packed with information that helps you carefully consider design concepts.I love the fact that an entire chapter is dedicated towards assignments for helping you get your hands dirty, even better they are individual exercises so you do not necessarily need a class or partner to help you complete. Excellent Book and for the price-I have no complaints.If you are wondering where to get started designing this is an excellent reference as well, if you have been designing for a while this is a perfect design companion to creating well though out collections.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It breaks down a lot of concepts and helps you to sort through the overwhelming world of fashion. What's great is it is written in a way that is easy to understand. And is interesting enough to make you want to read again.By the time I was finished I knew that I had learned something and I could easily and quickly apply it. The book also has creative exercises and challenges to solidify what you have learned.

Bought this book on a whim to begin studying fashion. Was surprised with how great the content was. Went through the basics of everything in fashion and began to touch on very important things like fabrics, garment construction, and the history of fashion. There are also assignments in the back of the book and they are well thought out and take some time to complete. Highly recommend this book.

This book is completely awesome. All information organized perfect way. Illustrations are great indeed. I think everyone who wants to learn fashion design must have this book. The quality of book itself is really good, very well printed. Thanks to author! Only minus that book size is a bit weird, but, at the same time, will be easier to put it into the bag :) I recommend this book to everyone who is intrested in fashion design.

If you read fashion magazines then you are going to enjoy this book tremendously. FULL COLOR, Straight to the point concise yet powerful information. It is a book that you gives you inspiration and shows you how to think and plan like a fashion designer. It gives you a brief timeline of important designers from 1910 to present included on the list is Proenza Schouler (Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCoullough who went to Parsons)

Lots of design books out there -- this is the definitive design instruction -- no nonsense, the real deal -- easy to understand, clear, concise. Disclaimer: I know the author but I would totally call him out if it was BS. It isn't. He's smart, a great educator, and knows his stuff.

I bought this book for my daughter and she loved it! It is a very informative and very detailed book. It is great for anyone with a future dream in the fashion design world.

I like this book a lot. It’s easy to read and it really breaks down and explains things very well. I’ve learned so much about fashion just from this book. I definitely will be read others because it doesn’t cover everything but this book is great to start off.
