Will this cut very thin aluminmum sheets? I need to trim out some window holes on a camper that is covered in aluminmum sheets.

Just double-checking my understanding. Would it be correct to say that this downcutting bit pushes waste toward the bearing and away from the router?

That is correct. This it will give you a clean cut on the tip of the material as it exerts downward pressure - it may tear out the bottom for the same reason. A compression bit has both up and down, giving you a clean cut on both sides.
