Charles River Apparel Women's New Englander Waterproof Rain Jacket

I love this jacket! I needed to replace my old coat with one that came down past my hips a little, and was completely waterproof, and still had a hood and pockets. It is nice and light, and although I haven't gotten to use it outside yet, the material is much nicer than the swishy-sound material most rain coats are made of. HOWEVER--- I read so many reviews about it being too small order up. NOT TRUE. I am 5'4 and 124, and Im normally an XS in most things but wanted to be able to wear a sweatshirt or something underneath when its cold, the SMALL is HUGE on me! I'm swimming in it. Way below my butt, and i could wear a winter jacket underneath and still have room. This is obviously not the companies fault- but i would caution people in ordering a size up. Will be exchanging for a smaller size most likely.

Although this is advertised as 'wash by hand' the instructions say "wipe clean with a damp cloth". Although the jacket is interesting and looks well made, the color fabric is very cheap. More like a thin vinyl.Too cheap for me! Why would they make a jacket you can't even 'hand wash'?

If you want a true rain jacket this is it, but bear in mind, this is actually more of a "slicker". The outer layer is a very lightweight, almost rubbery material, but is very flexible, very light. I should've realized this may be the case when the description states it's waterPROOF. It looks nice, fits nice, but I'll be returning it because it's not a jacket I would wear unless I was intending to be out in the rain or possibly in some boating instances. I'm looking for a light-weight jacket I can wear at anytime, and if it happens to start raining I have some protection.

This is a rubber raincoat. It is hot and will tear easily.

I got a better look then I bargained for! My jacket is a bright yellow that takes me back to being a kid. It looks good and fits well. I've worn it in the rain a couple of times and it kept me dry. I didn't get sweaty as you sometimes do with rain wear in the summer. I'm really looking forward to getting a lot of use for it this fall. Its a tapered fit, so it won't take a lot of bulk underneath, but a cardigan should fit nicely with it. Well worth the money.

Based on the reviews I read, I expected the jacket to run small- sounded perfect for me, as I'm petite. However, when I got it I was swimming in fabric and the jacket came down to my knees. Quality and material seem good otherwise. Will return.For reference, I'm 5'2", 110lbs and I bought an xsmall.

I really liked it. I usually wear a medium or a small and I ordered the medium but it fit a big large. I'm keeping it. The color is great I got the aqua and it looks just like the photos.

I will be returning this jacket. I hated how the mesh inside the sleeves bunches up when you put on the jacket.
