The Mortification of Sin Paperback – December 6, 2011

Although it took me a while to get into it, in part because of the writing style and the older language, the power of the Spirit evident in the production of this writing is evident and convincing. Owen’s use of Scripture for the task of explaining, convincing, and persuading regarding mortification is wonderful.

I' m reading this for the second time.As far as Kindle books go, there aren't an intolerable number of proofreading errors. Still, there are places where I have to guess what word the author really wrote because what is on the screen is something that spellcheck accepted but that makes no sense. I like the book well enough that when I can afford it I will get a hard copy.

A Christian classic from one of the great Puritan minds. This is a must have for any Christian library. If you want to war against your sin and lear how to do it, read this book.

Great book, but the publishing is underwhelming. The table of contents is laughable and there are no page numbers. My copy also had the binding bent.

I enjoy reading books written centuries ago. Sometimes difficult to face the truth stated. I highly recommend for anyone serious about taking a look at sin.

Gives much insight for dealing with the sin nature .For those who desire to grow in sanctification and closer to the Lord I highly recommend . Will read again. It is a book that requires much mediation. Both the vocabulary and writing is at times difficult to follow .

Great book for strategies for combating sin in our life.

Someone recommended this book to me, but unless there is a translation into modern English, I will be completely unable to benefit from it.

Despite the older style language, Owen makes his case that dealing with sin is a serious business. It is not a trivial matter to set aside old sinful ways. Sin entangles and traps us in our thinking. Only the Holy Spirit can enable us to change our hearts, defeat such sin and daily walk in newness of life.

Very good purchase. It is easy to buy kindle books now with the new "just one click". Very useful item
