Highest quality and a super price!
I've been searching for a dual gate control system for some time now and it seems there are two basic types; cheap junk and over priced commercial grade. I just couldn't justify the commercial grade costs and was just about to waste some money on a Mighty Mule system, which I've come to learn lasts about 2 years before they break down. Then I stumbled upon the E8 brand. At first, I was sure this was some sort of scam. How could anyone manufacture a dual gate system with all the features listed, including stainless steel arms, for such a low price? This system is about half the cost of the cheap Mighty Mule and other retail homeowner kits. I contacted the seller who sent me on-line manuals to review. After ordering, the kit arrived in 5 days. Nice! Everything was there and after inspecting, I have to say that I am amazed at the quality of all the components. Nothing is cheap or anything but the highest of quality. I took time to play with the system on the bench, before hauling it to the gates, in order to familiarize myself with how this was going to proceed with an installation. Once at the job site, it didn't take long to set up and get this system into operation. I didn't have AC power at the site, so I used an extension cord to compare the function of the solar/battery verses the AC transformer options. Satisfied that the solar/battery operation would work fine for my needs, I was able to save myself the time and trouble to put in AC power or run low voltage wire back to the house for the transformer to be remote powered from the garage. The only difference between battery and AC power operation is that the gates close one at a time instead of together when on battery. That takes a little longer to close. Open works the same with battery or AC power.I e-mailed Jason, the distributor and vendor, several times with questions I had and he was very knowledgeable, articulate and quick with replies. It just doesn't get better than this; an excellent quality product, fast shipping, great price, a seller who knows his product and is fast with e-mail replies.I am so happy that I found what I really wanted in a gate control system at a price well below what I would have thought possible. If I were to make any recommendation, I would recommend going with the 400mm arm kit just because the extra length arms make it easier to set up the mounting location. While the 300mm arms in this kit do the job, I did have to pay attention to measurements on the pivot mounts on the gate posts in order for the gates to fully open and close. The 400mm arms are more forgiving with mounting locations since there is more arm travel available to work with. That's just something to keep in mind; if you have BIG posts, mine were rail road ties, the 400mm arm kit would be a better option. If you are using round gate posts, this 300mm kit is more than enough to make the install easy.

This gate opener system works much better than the Lift Master opener I had
This gate opener system works much better than the Lift Master opener I had. Mainly, it is better because it hasn't broken yet. I had to fix the Lift Master so many times that I gave up, but this opener has worked without issue since I installed it. My only complaint is that it is really slow to open.

After 2 years gearbox stripped out, total faliure
Only after 2 years the gearbox stripped out and left to a total failure. Tried contacting seller to see if they had a replacement. Good gate motors but not build for the longevity that was expected.

I would not recommend the 300 for push to open applications
I would not recommend the 300 for push to open applications. I've tried numerous configurations, just not long enough to open/close the gates all the way. Im going to try rehanging the gates so that they swing inwards instead before I try to exchange this for the 400. My main complaint is that the plastic control box is probably the worst one on the market. Not really watertight, and to access the inside you have to remove half of the box. Before purchasing this, be aware that you'll need to purchase a considerable amount of wire to install. I spent just over $100 on wire and lag screws.

Great product, seller is very responsive to questions/concerns.
Ok, so I am a new DIY type, been doing things around the house for the past 2 years, everything from cabinets, to tile, to roof, to fence, to cement, to flooring, and now: DIY gates.I bought these after looking at the reviews, and obviously it seemed that for the price, I wanted something stainless steal and not plastic. I've never tried mighty-mule so I can't compare them to these. The installation has been a breeze. The seller is very responsive and has answered all my questions, even emailing me sketches and drawings when I couldn't figure out how to get the gates to open 90 degrees. The gates have a lot of torque, so be sure to mount it onto a very sturdy object. The wiring is fairly easy to figure out, just read the instructions and go.I connected mine to an 18ah battery which was connected to a solar controller and solar panel. I had to drill a couple holes into the plastic case in order to use it, which I then placed inside a wooden box I created.I also used stainless steel angle beams which I bought online to cover the wires so I didn't have to tear up my driveway for the wire that runs to the second gate. Worked like a charm. So, everything at the moment is working like a charm, so much so I went ahead and bought a second set for my other set of dual gates. I plan on mounting the second set to the same battery... which I should have nearly 42ah with the 7ah backup batteries wired in with my 18ah battery... (batteries in parallel).I think for starting out solar, this is a good little project. If you were direct wiring, this project is even simpler. So I guess that's it. Great product and responsive seller.
