Spectre Performance Air Intake Kit: High Performance, Desgined to Increase Horsepower and Torque: Fits 2019 DODGE/RAM (1500) SPE-9090

Many people complained of the instructions but honestly if you have any Buisness installing a cold air intake yourself then you should be able to assemble this kit. It is straightforward and took only about 25 min from start to finish to assemble, remove old intake and install this new kit. Took it for a drive and instantly noted a better throttle response. Also noted a pleasant growl that added to my aftermarket exhaust but like the exhaust is quiet and calm when not on the throttle or pulling hard load. It looks good, filter is Massive for a small block engine and the velocity stacks is a nice addition and shows the manufacture actually put some effort into the design. You will like it of you are looking for a proper cold air intake.

Fits great, works great, very easy install everything fits perfectly. I have installed hundreds of cold air intakes. This is the first one that had no problems at all everything fit perfectly. The review that says it doesn't fit, obviously does not have a new style Ram. This one is for the 2019 new style Ram fits perfectly. No cutting no Drilling no trying to figure out how to make something work It just fits. Sounds like an old-school four-barrel. The install took me almost 20 minutes.

I'll preface this with I have a 2019 5th gen Ram (new body style) that came with a Rocky Ridge K2 package with a flowmaster exhaust. Also, a 6" lift on 22" rims on 37's. I installed this in about 30 minutes. There is a YouTube video out there that I watched that helped a lot because the supplied instructions kinda suck to be honest. I'm pretty handy and understood them, but watch the YouTube video if you have any questions. My main gripe is the rubber grommet that you put the air flow sensor in. The sensor fell out right after I plugged it in. There isn't much slack in the cable, so I cut a zip tie that was retaining it to give it a little more play. I had to kind of redneck rig it so I knew it would not fall out. Mileage? I might have gained 1-2 mpg just cruising like a grandma. There is a catch! The sound! You hear alot of induction noise when you step on it. Which also changed the exhaust note a little. It's hard to be easy on the gas pedal. It sounds amazing! In the cabin, it isn't noticable unless you're almost at 3k rpm and have your foot in it a little. The setup is perfect for what I want. Something mellow while cruising or at highway speed, but really barks when you floor it. Power? I'm not sure I gained much, but throttle response has improved.

Save yourself time, spend a bit more money and buy a K&N or S&B Cold Air Intake. Don't risk purchasing this. I've sent emails to Spectre Performance asking for solutions, with no answer after 2 days. The filter slides away from the adapter inside the heat shield too easily. Before I finished attempting to install the pipe, it was already starting to slide off even with the clamps fully tightened. There are several reviews on Amazon with people having this same exact issue and Spectre still hasn't fixed the issue. It is VERY risky. If this filter came off during a drive, you wouldn't notice and your engine would be inhaling unfiltered air with dust and particles. The pipe I received was too short; it could of had more length to it. It barely reached to slide inside the adapters. I also think the position of the opening for the Temperature Sensor was not in the correct position, because my cable could not reach it, even with the pipe pushed all the way into the elbow attached to the throttle bottle. Pushing the pipe all the way into the elbow causes the other side to not reach the adapter going to the heat shield. Another reason why I determined the pipe was too short. Spectre Performance will not respond to my email that I sent 2 days ago explaining all this. So do not take the risk buying this.

Fit the 2019 5th gen ram alright. Fits like crap around the stock intake snorkel. I just wrapped another layer of foam around it to get it some what air tight. The sound is amazeballs. Fuel economy won't improve really, really for just a little more power everywhere but your peak. Installation was okay, be careful with the air sensor.

Easy to install looks and sounds good however the filter will not stay on. The piece that you slide the filter onto inside of the box is smooth and the filter will not stay on. Rather than going through the trouble of trying to find a different one I'm just going to throw some self-tapping screws through the clamp band into the mounting plate. At this point I would ask the manufacturer to do better.

Elbow adapter to throttle body does not fit ram 1500 limited and this product does not come with a sleeve for that application like the k&n brand does. Check the diameter of your throttle body opening, this product contains only 4” to 4” elbow adapter.

Put this on my 2019 Ram 1/2 ton. Super easy to install. Only took me about 30 minutes. Can’t say it’s done much for my gas mileage, but it does sound nice when I stomp on the gas. It visually pleasing as well. No complaints with my purchase.

So at first I received the unit and the filter kept coming off the coupling no matter how tight the clamp was. I even tried putting screws through the filter to the coupling and the filter tore away and ripped the rubber on the filter. After inspecting the coupling, I noticed it had a slight curve towards the filter which is why the filter slid off it. I called Spectre customer support and they sent me a replacement coupling and filter immediately. The replacement parts worked perfect. The truck now has a nice growl when I accelerate. Does exactly what I wanted without the $500 price tag. Better throttle response and sounds mean when you’re on the gas. Filter does slide off easily if you don’t secure it. I used a couple dabs of tv silicone to hold it in place. No issues since. Used silicone instead of glue for easy removal when needed. All in all great product for the money.

This is my 2nd Spectre cold air intake, as before install was relatively easy. The only issue I had was building the steel box, directions were not very clear. After I figured it out it was a breeze install. Nice grawl.... Not sure about HP gains but acceleration is a little bit more Peppy.
