Amazing Evolution: The Journey of Life

Great book for kids

As a teacher and mom, this is one of the best children's books I've ever bought for my daughter and I to read together. This is actually a book is for all ages. A must have for your thinking child who loves to question, wonder, and ask why and how. Reading this book helped us both understand evolution even better than before. Wonderfully illustrated. Buy it!! Amazing job on a huge topic.

Book had great explanations of different aspects of evolution that my child learned from now at 5 and I think will understand more and refer back to in years to come! Pictures that kept her engaged and each 1-2pages were on a theme or topic that made it easy to read as its own part each night! We both loved it!

I think this book is suitable for ages 7 to 9 years old. It is fun and interesting! A great book with beautiful illustrations!

The way it is written makes it easy for kids and adults alike. The illustration is amazing and I find myself reading long after the twins fall asleep. 10 stars

There's enough high to mid level information that an adult will learn something, an 8-10 year old will get a very good overall understanding, and a younger child will find topics of interest. 75 pages is longer than normal and there is just enough verbage and pictures to describe key topic issues. Not as slick as a DK book, but the same level of content. I've got multiple technical books on evolution, biology, geology, paleantology, trees of life. If a child, grand child, or unexposed adult asked me to describe evolution, this is the one book I would give them to start with to cover it all. Concepts of DNA, mutations, speciation, etc are in here. Details of Mitosis, ATGC, messenger RNA are not. Included are fossils, adaptations, Darwin, natural selection, genes, species, extinction, more selection, convergent evolution, eon/era/period charts, fossils and geology, earliest Cambrian life, branching trees, and a bunch of etcs.

Fantastic! Great for reading to 4-7 year olds. Older kids can read it on their own - it's really great at defining new terms right on the page. There is also a glossary in the back of the scientific terms that it uses. Full of great information and beautiful illustrations!

i read this to/with my 5 year old and she completely loves the idea of evolution.. its a great book, great value and for someone whos familiar with evolution it even taught me a bunch of cool facts sparking even my interest in other evolutionary pathways.. it covers dang near everything and more than youd think. its quickly become even my favorite book to read pre-bedtime.

This was really fun to read with the kids. I didn’t know how to explain evolution really but this book did a great job. Totally recommend.

Highly recommend this book. It's really well made, explains complex things in an easy way for kids and adults. It's nicely illustrustrated and and perfect for kifs who are interested in learning about how things came about to be the way they are. My 5 year old doesn't understand everything yet, but it keeps her highly interested.

My very intellectually curious 4 year old is absolutely in love with this book and has described it as “her favourite”. It is so wonderfully written (does not dumb things down) and the illustrations are fantastic such that she will happily sit and look at the pictures on her own. It is laid out in such a way that you can easily read just a few pages at a time which is great because there are a lot of big ideas here that require some time to reflect on. Certainly a book we will treasure for many years to come.

This book is a brilliant account of Evolution written specifically for children in a language they can understand. It's beautifully illustrated and is a book to treasure and has a place on every child's book shelf. I bought it for my 6 year old grandson and he soaked up the contents like a sponge. I highly recommend it.

My six-year old loves this book. The illustrations are great and the texts informative but not too complex. I highly recommend it!
