I recently purchased a teardrop trailer for minimum camping and boondocking. The rig is small but since I have gotten so used to a backup camera on my vehicle I thought I might need a camera on the rear of this camper. You see I am a little older now too so the days of backing up intuitively with a trailer when I was in the construction business as a young man are long past. My solution is an aftermarket backup camera. This one is a good one too. I purchased this system because it was the most reasonably priced unit like it on Amazon. To my surprise, the unit was installed very easily by hooking it up with just two wires to the license plate light. Very simple with two wires. The app was easy too I just downloaded it to my phone and it synced up right away. As you see from the pictures attached everything works great. I have about 25' from my cab in our truck to the back end of the trailer. it stays connected and the screen looks clear. I'll recommend this backup camera to all my new fellow camper trailer friends as I travel.

I got this rear back up camera and installed on a my dad’s old Nissan Rough. The installation and wiring were very easy. My reverse lights are on the rear hatch which is also where my license plate is and where the camera can be attached, so the combination of the whole process takes around 20 mins. The instructions have multiple customer support contacts. There is also an video on youtube you can watch. What you need is a pair of pliers to push down on the metal tab once the two wires are in. The quality of image has vivid colors and good contrast. I’m thinking of getting another camera from them for my tow hitch to make for one person hitching. the monitor is able to switch from one camera to the other. If you need a backup camera, I really recommend this seller’s products! By the way, this wireless backup camera works on Android 11 & 12，and IOS 14👍

I ordered this because people said it was easy to install, but I'm shocked by the lack of instructions on the installation. The people who ordered this must do a lot of work on their car because it's not a plug and play situation. You get the frame with open wires that need to be attached to the car's backup lights and clamped together somehow. There is no instruction on how to do this and there doesn't seem to be any youtube videos to show how to wire this exact product. I emailed the company twice and they haven't responded so I'm writing this review in hopes that it'll get some attention and I can get some actual direction on how to install this thing. UPDATE: I finally got a response. The tech support seems to be from asia and emails back at pretty odd times of the day. To give them credit, they were very thorough in their responses though. Apparently the options for installation are cutting the cords to your tail light and rewiring them yourself, run the cord the length of the car and plug into your adapter, or buy a 12-24v battery that most people on here say needs to be replaced a lot. I decided to return this so my review rating is purely based on the advertising of this product. It's a joke to say something is 'easy installation' when it requires a very real amount of electrical wiring. If you like to do car stuff or happen to be super hands on with DIY projects, go to town.

My truck did not come with a backup camera and I didn’t want to spend a ton of money to upgrade the system. After reading the mostly positive reviews, I decided to give this solution a try. Here are my thoughts regarding the LASTBUS License Plate Wireless Backup Camera… The build quality is excellent. Heavy steel license frame and camera housing. Wiring appears to be good quality (not thin and cheap), and connections seem to be tight. Connecting to truck wiring was simple – red to power and black to ground. At first, I wired it to the passenger side license plate light, as I wanted the camera to stay on with running lights. After the license frame installation, I downloaded and installed the “SWD App” (more on this below) onto my Samsung Note 4. Tested the unit by turning on the lights (engine off), waited for Wi-Fi signal on the phone, then opened the app. Bingo – camera video popped up on my phone immediately, solid connection, decent quality image. Pleased with the results, I decided to take the truck for a drive around the block. Started the engine, put in gear and off I went. Uh-oh – video image was immediately lost…then the app crashed. Wi-Fi connection continued to be unstable (dropping out) any time I had the engine running, in gear or not. So I tried another wiring location – this time I connected into the running lights of my trucks trailer wiring harness. Tested again – image was much more stable, and dropped less often with the engine running and in gear. Note: every wiring scenario is going to be different depending on the type of vehicle you have. Something I noticed during my testing – the license frame Wi-Fi signal was always strong, consistent and reliable. It was only after I opened the “SWD App” that the connection seemed “glitchy” and would crash. Leading me to believe that the “SWD App” was the problem – reviews on the Play Store confirm how bad the app is. So, I searched for an alternative Android app that would work more consistently with license frame camera hardware. I downloaded, installed and tested at least 10 different “Wi-Fi backup camera” apps until I came across one that worked well with my Note 4. In Summary: the LASTBUS License Plate Wireless Backup Camera is a great option for those looking for a simple cost effective solution. Hardware is great – software is not so much. Be ready for some trial and error when installing.

I have installed this in my 2004 Corvette. It was installed just before I put it in winter storage so I have not had much opportunity to use it as of yet. However, it seemed to work OK. The fact that it uses its own internet means that it is not instantaneous when needed. You have to wait for the connection to be made. As long as you are not in a hurry and don't mind the extra steps on getting it connected to your phone it appears to be OK. If you are looking for a camera that is easy to install this is it. If you are looking for a camera that allows you to see quickly what is behind, this is probably not the way to go. I only drive this car occasionally and don't mind the connection time required.

Have installed and used this lastbus license plate frame wireless backup camera for days, and have to say it was the best backup camera I had. Before my trip, I kept searching a camera for my Forester, actually I ordered 2 license plate frame backup cameras from different sellers (lastbus and calmoor) on amazon so that I could get the best one for the coming trip. They all were delivered very fast as always. And the calmoor license plate frame camera was the reason why I would post this review. The calmoor backup camera was the exact same as the lastbus camera. Only the stickers on the box and the manual books were different, and everything else, including the accessories, were exactly the same. And you should download the SAME APP. But the price of lastbus was less than 90 dollars, but calmoor was 119.99 dollars!!!! OMG~Saving more money can work on me as always. Cons: It needed some time to get videos after opening the App. But I found the correct way is that 1.Put my car in Reverse, 2.Connect the Wi-Fi which starts with "SWD" in the setting on my phone, 3.Open the app and get videos. Anyway, glad that I made the right choice and saved some money!

First of all this is in NO way going to be as good or udpated as then new cameras all new cars come with. This a good and EASY quick fix if you CANT make new holes in a classic car or need to save $$$. It is basic and does the job. I temporarily connected the camera and tested it first and downloaded the program. i see people complain about the program, I have an android 7s that worked just fine connecting. No problems. The only problem I had is it would not fit in the tight space i have on my trunk. I could have modified and cut into the frame and only mounted the top part but since my trunk space has no room to move up i still could not even make my own brackets to move the camera higher if i wanted. As for the camera it covers a bit less then half of the lettering of the state letters on the license plate (TEXAS) but not ALL of it. I think it depends how picky a police officer may get if they want to give you a hard time, I think its still legible with the letters still showing partly. Other then that the camera works fine. Also you may have to drill a 1/4" hole behind the license plate or any open area that can be hidden to pull the wire antenna back into the trunk to strap and hide. Since I could not install as needed i did return it, but this item does work as described. A new stereo unit with back-up and navigation starts at $500-800 not including installation. If you get 2-3 years out of this its paid off. Im sure by then a newer version will be available as well. For a CLASSIC car its still saves you money...its better then paying a $200-$1000 paint and body repair if you back up and hit an object. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS NOT TO BE COMPARED TO THE NEW CAMERAS CARS COME WITH. IT IS A QUICK FIX AND DOES THE JOB.

I installed this on my 1989 F250 SD. The truck is before running lights, so if you want this to work all the time you have to hook it up to either the battery or an ignition source. If your car has daytime running lights, as most newer cars do, then you can hook this up to your taillights or license plate lights. There's also the question of whether the camera can be pointed up or down. The camera can be moved by hand, but there's resistance, and it will return to center. The pamphlet that comes with the camera is geared to cars with daytime running lights, but doesn't address certain things like is there an on/off capability in the software? Can the camera be pointed with the software? Does it constantly draw power or only draw power when accessed? I wrote to Lastbus, but the response didn't address any of my questions. It only told me what to do if there's a problem, and how to contact them by email. I've sent another email asking the same questions, but haven't yet received a response. The camera has pretty good daylight picture, but it uses your wifi connection. You can't get on the internet if you're looking at the camera's picture on your phone. They do sell other units that have their own receiver/monitor if you don't like this. I haven't used the unit at night yet, so can't address its low light capabilities. UPDATE: I purchased this mainly to help when hitching up my travel trailer. I've found that the picture is too dark to be of any value. I can't make out detail at the hitch as it's just too dark. However, the picture it presents is extremely clear. I know that doesn't make any sense, but it's what I've found. Having the ability to adjust brightness would be extremely helpful but the software doesn't offer that adjustment nor does my iphone adjust the brightness of the software provided.

This is a great product and utilises your own phone screen rather than having to mount a separate screen. The Picture is clear and bright with no flicker and never losses the connection. The Wi-Fi connection was instant and seamless and the installation was very easy as my car has always on running lights front and back so I was able to wire it into the number plate light which is obviously very close the plate. I did have some questions but customer service was very prompt and helpful. I had to mount by holder with the camera at the bottom as the projection at the top was very close to my tailgate activation switch, but that would not apply to all vehicles. The hexagon head bolts provided fit into hexagonal recess' in the plate holder which is great for theft prevention, if you have a mounting bracket and need to use your own bolts to screw into the bracket holes I would recommend using Torx or Allen key socket type for theft deterrence.

good build quality. software app is very weak. needed to reset wireless address every time i went in reverse. and often had to restart phone. worked intermittently.

Mon véhicule ne possède pas de caméra de recul et riens d'autre qu'une radio sans entrée auxilière. J'utilise donc déjà mon téléphone Android pour la musique, le GPS, etc. Je voulais une caméra de recul pour certaines occasions seulement quand ça passe trop serré avec mon Savana allongé. Je n'ai pas besoin qu'elle soit toujours en fonction. Je ne voulais pas passer de cablage de l'avant vers l'arrière ni mettre un écran permanent à l'avant avec aussi du cablage. J'ai branché cette caméra sur la lumière de plaque d'immatriculation sur ma porte arrière. Mon téléphone a tout de suite vu apparaitre la caméra sur le Wifi. On voit très bien sur le téléphone. Par contre, sur mon téléphone, je dois toujours rebrancher manuellement le wifi sur l'application. C'est peut-être pire quand je suis près de ma maison puisque mon téléphone est déjà connecté sur ma borne Wifi. Ça fonctionne bien pour mon besoin mais je voulais une caméra de recul instantanément en fonction, je serais déçu. La fabrication semble solide. On le saura rapidement puisqu'elle est montée sur ma porte arrière droite qui ouvre et ferme très souvent.

on my new phone it wouldn't work unless i turned off the network. So I just used an old phone with no network connection, works great! I use it for a rear view camera on our RV. Great image, nice to see behind the motorhome when travelling or when towing our boat. I just hooked it to the running lights so I turn the lights on to power the camera and it is live all the time.
