I bought this X500 model because of the amazing features that were nearly impossible to find out about. Not even the Thinkware Website gave an adequate description of the features. The final and best feature list came from the manual download. Here is the precise list of features that make the X500 a top choice: We would have to pay a LOT of money to get these features installed in a new car. So here is the best description of features:' Lane Departure Warning System(LDWS) Lane departure warning alerts the driver when the vehicle moves out of its lane. LDWS is activated only when the vehicle is moving faster than 50km/h (30mph) * Default setting : 80km/h (approx 50mph) + Photo of the feature display in the manual.' Forward Collision Warning System (FCWS)Forward collision warning alerts the driver when the vehicle is approaching the vehicle ahead at a high closing rate. FCWS is activated only when the vehicle is moving faster than 30km/h (18mph) + Photo of the feature display in the manual.' Front Vehicle Departure Warning (FVDW)Front vehicle departure warning alerts the driver when the vehicle ahead starts to move forward from a complete stop. Check this review in October.9/11/15My first test drive was a disaster. False alerts every few minutes for no apparent reason, primarily crash alerts. So I turned off all the alerts except the lane change alerts and I set those to low sensitivity. My plan is to set up and adjust one feature at a time, starting with the lane change alerts, which was my main reason to buy this unit. The Red Light Camera + Speed Camera in my area failed to get alerts, so it must not be in their database. Who do I call to get the database updated? No instructions to be found for this chore.11/19/15After setting up the adjustments this fine dashcam exceeds ALL of my expectations. My main reason for getting this unit was the lane change alert for when I drift into another lane. This works PERFECTLY every time. Collision detection also works perfectly. I am one happy camper. I highly recommend this dashcam to everyone.PROBLEM,Not enough cable clamps were supplied to mount the cable. Order a dozen more stick on cable clamps to finish the installation.Grizz

It works perfectly well and the audvio/video quality is good. Don't expect 4K video but you can easily identify license plates and even some faces. The cables are long enough for my south american Corolla. And if you want to watch what it recorded just put the SD card in your computer. It uses standard formats, and my Mac reads it with no issue. The only problem I have is that it only works with SD cards from Thinkware. And it only supports up to 64 GB.Also, if you live in a third-worlder country with bad roads (like me), it will beep every time you cross a bump, as if you had a crash. However that's not a big issue, I just got used to it.

The products is enough to have FIVE stars .I used the low price product previously. But I worried that the recording is working every time due to frequent problems. cheap price provides low quality.Eventually we had to find new products.After comparing many products, I choose X500. X500's major advantage is reliability. All operations are working without ANY problems in extreme hot summer. If you check the temperature of the X500 that is exposed to hot, it is too hot even I can't touch it. However X500 is stable and working normally.X500 has a LCD that I can check the status of the equipment any time.during driving, driver can be exposed to a variety of situations such as a tunnel or night driving.In any situation, X500 was working stable and guaranteed recording.X500 is enough to get five points due to ensure stable operation and reliable recording in harsh environments.Add-ons upgrade convenience of X500.Collision detection, built-in GPS, speed detection and lane departure detection, etc., make me enjoy of driving.If frequent notifications are annoying setting can be disabled any time.In addition, one of the advantage is that additional rear camera can be attached.comparing other built-in rearview camera products which recorded the car inside than the rear, X500 is more helpful to check real realview.The whole family, while the trip across the north american for more than a week, felt comfortable always with reliable operation of X500 .In addition, the trip is always enjoyable with additional features such as lane detection and strikes.one of the reason that I choose this product was INavi maker made good navigation for a long time in South Korea. It means I will be able to get stable support any time in the future.

Terrible said recorder save powers but nothing recorder in order another one

Very surprised by the quality of x500. Wasn't expecting much from any dash cam but this meets if not exceeds exceptions.Pro:-Very clear video when imported into Proprietary program which BTW is very easy to use.-GPS is built in and accurately depicts where the vehicle is using Google Maps-Circular Led light around the camera lens give the cam a very sophisticated look-Speed Zone and Red light camera warnings are a life saver and very helpful as they are a constant remind to check your speed.-Adjustment of G-sensor sensitivity-Mount allows little to no vibration in videoCons:-Not a fan of the 3M adhesive, so be careful how and where you mount it!-No data cable provided! Your best bet is to buy a cable or just pop the micro sd card out to view the video.So far I haven't had the chance to test the parking surveillance mode yet.Come time March, a new firmware update should be out that should enable the Lane Departure Warning System.Highly recommend the purchase if anyone's in the market for a dash cam. Worth the extra bucks spent on the extra features.
