Review: Happy with purchase so far - Almost regretted ordering this because there are a ton of recent negative reviews and I am generally very skeptical about positive reviews that look and sound as though they were written by chatGPT. However, I am pleased to say that I received my bosu ball last night and so far everything has been totally fine. The pump: I had no issues pumping up the ball with the pump that was included. It aired up fast (took me maybe 10 minutes but half of that was because I had to stop briefly to take my dog out to potty) and super easily. Yes, it got to a point where I could hear the air hissing out as I was pumping it but my solution was to just pump a little faster. At no point was it difficult physically to pump (I have an inflatable paddle board and let me tell you, after pumping that thing up, this ball was a leisurely walk in the park in comparison). I was provided with 2 plugs (they were inside the pump when it arrived, so check there if yours appear to be missing) and it seems to have plugged up just fine. I don't hear any air leaking. I did a 15 minute workout from Bosu's Youtube channel and it was a lot more challenging than I expected (a good thing!). I am super pleased with my purchase so far, though keep in mind I'm writing this review the day after I received it so I can't comment on longevity yet. If I have any issues, I'll update but so far I am pleased. I think the only slightly critical thing I could maybe say is that the box it came in was damaged on the bottom a bit upon arrival, but that probably had more to do with the company that shipped it, and at any rate, the bosu ball was not damaged at all, just the box. The only reason I mention it is because there is a line on the box that's supposed to be a measurement for how tall you inflate the bosu ball and I was afraid that the damaged box might make that line less accurate, but I was able to flatten it against my carpet just fine despite the box damage.
Review: Great for balance training! - I am a fitness enthusiast. I bought my ball on this web-site over a year ago, and I use it 2-3 times per week on average. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this trainer for people middle aged or older to do BALANCE TRAINING. What do I mean by "balance training"? Stand on the ball! Here's my journey. When I first "met" this ball I had not bought it yet. I saw it at the gym, and thought: "what do you do with it?" So I put it in the middle of the floor in the stretching area and stood on it (both feet). I'm reasonably fit, so my reaction was "no problem, what's the big deal?" So then I tried to stand on it with one foot and the light bulb went on! Whoa! This is DIFFICULT! Not only is it difficult I could see right away the benefits of improving the muscular strength and stability of the muscles in the foot and lower leg. Here are the basics: Put the ball round-side-down, and it is a bit easier. Put the ball round-side-up and it is more difficult! Also, if you PUMP the ball up more, it is also slightly more difficult (at the gym I go to there is always one ball somewhat "flat = easier" and one ball "round = harder"). So when I first started out, I went all-in: round-side-up. I would try to stand on the ball with one leg only and I found it quite difficult to do 20 seconds at a time. My feet and ankles were wobbling all over the place, and I had to use my arms and the non-standing leg for balance. However, I quickly improved. Within a couple weeks I was up to 30-40 seconds consistently and would occasionally go a whole minute without falling off. I would try to do 2-3 minutes cumulatively on each foot before I switched sides (falling off multiple times during the 2-3 minutes). I made a game of it. I would get FRUSTRATED if I could not last at least a whole minute at least once on each leg during my session. Fast forward 6 months or so and I'm now doing 5 minutes (cumulative) on each side, twice for 10 minutes per leg or 20 minutes total. I'm now (usually) able to do a full 2 minutes consecutively on each side without falling off - or at least I'm very frustrated if I cannot do the 2 minutes at least once on each leg. I have to concentrate very hard to maintain my balance - when I do this at home it helps if I have music on, and I let my mind wander but I (used to) put a dime or a penny on the floor and try to focus on that so I would not get distracted. I CANNOT watch TV while doing my balance training (I can, however, listen to the TV while I stare at the penny on the floor). Fast forward to 12 months and I'm still improving: I'm now able to do 5 minutes on each side (twice each, total of 20 minutes) and I rarely fall off anymore. I'm thinking: "wow, what progress I've made in one year! " My balance has improved so much I'm thinking I'm ready to be the next Great Wallenda (the people who walk on tightropes between buildings - ha ha). So I'm at the gym and I see a young woman pick up the Bosu ball and I have to watch her: She goes over, puts the ball down, does a couple squats on it and I'm thinking: "big deal!" Then she flips it over (round side down) and stands on it with one leg like I do. Then she raises her leg up behind her, grabs it with one of her free hands, and does a yoga pose! My Mind is Blown! So now I have my mission for the next year. I''m working on doing the yoga pose with one leg - MUCH more difficult than just standing on the ball with two free hands and a free leg to balance with. The progression is the same though: at first 20 seconds seemed nearly impossible, now I've progressed to (regularly) doing 60 seconds without falling off. Hopefully by the end of this year I'll be able to do it and hold it for 5 minutes at a time. I love this ball!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is there a difference between the BOSU Blue Trainer and the BOSU Standard - they seem very similar and Amazon ALWAYS messes up dimensions.**
A: There is a Bosu Balance Trainer and Bosu Sport Balance -- the latter being smaller for portability. But, THE Bosu is the Balance Trainer, so I think safe to assume "standard" refers to that. The base platform is 25" in diameter (26 1/2 " if handles included). Inflated, the height is 9-10".

**Q: I have terrible balance. Would this be helpful to me or is it too challenging for someone with no balance?**
A: If there is no medical condition causing the balance issue, I would think this would work to help. It IS tough (or, unfamiliar) at first, so I stood next to a kitchen counter to have easy grasp of a solid surface (and, not next to a window, for instance) I did not do the super advanced skills to begin. Just try the static standing, then shifting weight all directions to get your balance with the ankle in all positions. THEN try picking up one foot and balance on one leg. For some, this will be a walk in the park and they will quickly move thru the included exercise program. I use it like a short strided "stepper" machine, and love it. My strength and balance are improved in just a couple weeks of use. DO take care doing deep lunge moves on and off the ball.... oops, those hip flexors got pretty sore. (user error) It's been fun and easy to use, I keep it in a convenient location for more frequent use.

**Q: Does anyone have any tips on how to inflate this thing?**
A: I just received mine and I understand why all the problems with inflating! I read all the suggestions; here's what I learned and it worked perfectly and quickly when I understood the problem: The instinct is to push straight down on the pump to inflate the half ball. But that makes it hard for air to go in. So I pumped very slowly at first without slamming the pump down, and a little on an angle. Suddenly I could feel it inflating. It ended up taking less than 5 minutes and the first part is the hardest. Just don't go straight down and don't push hard until the ball is somewhat inflated.

**Q: this is the pro model and 65cm?thanks**
A: It is 65cm but the Home/Retail model

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Won't have to buy it twice! Unless you have multiple athletes that need to train at one time.
*by B***U on September 11, 2025*

I’ve been using the BOSU Balance Ball for nearly ten years and can confidently say it’s one of the most reliable pieces of training equipment I own. I recently purchased additional units so multiple athletes can train simultaneously, and the quality has been just as consistent as my original. The product is well-constructed and holds up over long-term use, even with regular training demands. It’s also backed by a one-year warranty, with the option to extend under certain conditions. In my experience, though, durability has never been an issue—I’ve never needed to use the warranty. For the cost, this is an excellent value. It provides versatility for strength, balance, and core training, and is a staple in both home and professional training environments.
