Great sponge! I recently switched to this PureSol brand because the charcoal sponges I was buying on Amazon from a different company were only lasting me 2-3 weeks before falling apart. I am so glad I did! My first PureSol sponge lasted me 3 1/2 months, and could have made it another few weeks! I will not purchase any brand but PureSol from now on! I have been using charcoal sponges for about 6 months now because I read that they can help alleviate dry skin and clear up acne. While I can say they have really helped to keep my skin hydrated and no longer dry, I don't feel they have made a whole lot of difference in clearing up the acne I get on my back and shoulders. I suppose that for people with milder cases of acne the charcoal may make a difference, it just didn't help for me. I have found that when you are finished using the sponge after showering, if you squeeze the remaining water out by "sandwiching" the sponge between your hands (putting one hand on each side and pressing your hands together) as opposed to squeezing it in half in one hand, the sponges seem to last much longer. I believe that is due to the fact that you do not stress the fibers, keeping them from breaking apart causing the sponge to deteriorate faster. All in all these charcoal sponges from PureSol are an excellent purchase in my opinion and last longer than any other sponges I have used in the past..

FIRST review on Amazon ever, because this product is deserving of every great review there is. I'm the pickiest person I know when it comes to just about anything, and was hesitant to purchase this product due to my usual skeptic self, in addition to some of the (few) poor reviews I've read. After much deliberating, I finally decided to bite the bullet, and boy, am I glad I did! This product REALLY does leave the skin so smooth and soft to the point where I no longer need to moisturize daily, which is amazing considering how dull/dry my skin usually is after the shower. Another great feat is that this sponge does not soak up my body wash the way a traditional loofah does, which means I can get away with using less soap, but still work up an amazing frothy lather! Those who complain about the sponge ripping apart are likely not drying it properly/as directed. DO NOT wring it, rather, squeeze out excess water by pressing it between your palms and hanging it up to dry. It's a bit more maintenance, yes, but oh so worth it! Definitely one of the best, if not THE BEST shower purchases I've ever made.

Many of the complaints on the reviews for this product are due to user error. You do need to squeeze out the sponge and use the provided hook and let the sponge dry as much as possible in between uses. As soon as the sponge becomes water logged for an extended period of time, it will start to break down. My first sponge from this brand lasted about 3 months before breaking down, however that's mostly because the string fell off and I was too lazy to repair it! I have a facial sponge from the same company and it's still going strong. I will say that while this hasn't been a miracle sponge for me, it has helped keep my skin a little nicer through the winter. It is also pleasant and easy to use, so I just purchased a new one and will continue to use these for some time. It does not, however, provide a great deal of exfoliation (nor is it really intended to). Even if you don't purchase this sponge, I absolutely recommend the facial sponge! It has really helped clear up my skin and keep it smooth and clean.

At first I likes the sponge a lot. It felt very soft and nice. I am in no way hard on sponges. This is after normal use. It then started falling apart, now little pieces of black sponge are everywhere. It's totally useless now. This happened after owning it for about three months, and using it about 10 times. The rest of the time it was hanging dry in my shower.

I love the face sponge, the biggest thing with that was that it helped my soap lather up and I could use next to nothing and still get a good clean. I was expecting that same super lathering power here but found it to equal that of a loofah. It's also a bit awkward to use, gets kind of floppy and hard to hold on to (even if I loop a couple fingers through the string I get tied up). I was bummed considering how much I enjoyed the face sponge. The other issue is the same down side of the facial sponge, it dries between uses so it takes time to reabsorb water and be soft enough to use. I have ended up using this very little and may eventually throw it out. As for the "holes" and "breaking" other users had issues with-it's a vegetable root...it has holes, and it wears down. Being bigger, it is apt to more/quicker disintegration. If they could make something a little larger than the face sponge I think it might be more usable and last longer.

I've had this sponge for about a week and am loving how superior it is to the plastic loofah I had been using all this time. Make sure you wet the sponge thoroughly until it's soft and ready to use. It isn't abrasive against the skin at all during use and leaves they body feeling cleansed. My only two complaints are that it takes quite a bit of effort to get the thing to dry and the lather doesn't last long. The directions say to gently squeeze it after each use to remove any moisture. There's no way you're going to get rid of the wetness until you really wring this thing, which isn't recommended because it may break. A few people recommended throwing it in the microwave once a week so I may try that. I also found that I'm going through my body wash a lot quicker with this sponge because it just doesn't hold enough lather for a complete wash of your body. Otherwise, it's a fantastic sponge that is having a positive effect on my skin.

I've always had problems with blackheads on my nose. I don't know why I never considered using exfoliating sponges. This product works great. I started to see immediate improvement. It's clear that it's working even after a few days of use but major changes are noticeable after a week. I was worried that it might be too rough on my skin but that has not been an issue. The only gripe I have is the lifespan of the product. I use it daily according to the manufactures instructions and it will barely make it a month. According to the manufacturer, it should last anywhere between one month to three.

I'm told that these things are the bee's knees in personal hygiene. Whatever it is that's magical was lost on me. I mean, it did serve to smear soap onto my body and distribute lather. Problematically, it generates very little friction or abrasion. These properties are necessary for a nice clean feeling. You know what feels nice and clean? Some dead skin coming off. There are many quality products that will do that for you. There's that Blue Japanese Bath Towel (loved it), or those Crazy Green Scrubbing Gloves . Even your off the shelf loofah that I stole from someone else in the house was superior to this thing. Might be suitable for the sedentary, but not for anyone who sweats or is around filth regularly.

I thought I would give this a try and I really do love it. My husband seems to like it too, so we are sharing it now. I think I need to get my own! :) I just love trying natural, eco friendly products. And I can tell it is natural because I have sensitive skin, and there hasn't been an issue at all. In fact, it improves my redness and makes it feel so soft. I highly recommend it, I think I need to buy a few and stock up. It comes exactly as it looks in the photo, and the hook is a really convenient idea, I keep it hung on the tile next to the mirror.

Una esponja de konjak buena, viene bastante pequeña y muy dura pero en cuanto la mojas es de tamaño normal y suave, es muy agradable, yo la uso para el cuerpo y la cara. Realiza una muy suave exfoliación. Cuando se seca se pone dura de nuevo hasta que la vuelves a mojar. Trae un cordón de hilo por un lado para que la puedas colgar y una ventosa. Me gusta y la recomiendo
