I'm in love!
In a metal kind of way that is. How can this thing be made in USA, sound so killer and still only cost 90 bucks? This gem lets you dial in anything from mild overdrive to tear-your-head-off full on thrash metal distortion. In fact it's suicide to crank the distortion all the way up. Also, the tonal adjustability lets you dial in that perfect sound to compliment your amp. The build quality is excellent too. If a great distortion sound has eluded you, this is your pedal! I would've paid $200+ for this and that's no B.S.! Get one before E.H. takes my idea.

Metalheads ONLY. A very nice addition to my collection.
It's for metal, baby. Don't expect any classic rock or blues. This pedal, however, is "fizzy" as opposed to "crunchy" and if you use your neck pickup, turn the tone knob on your guitar so it cuts the treble, your in Stoner Rock solos heaven. The boost is useable, but your settings will be very limited on the boost for it to be anything more than effective. If you max your knobs out, it will be annoying. There's a good video of what you can expect from this pedal, and the video pretty much shows the (useable) settings that are useable. The video is on you tube, and is by "ProGuitarShopDemos" - do note he's using a 7 string at the beginning of the video.I'm not sure if Amazon will let me post a link to the demo, but here we go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ03ekeVbso

Muff full off METAL!
Wowiee! Remember the first time you did a burn out? Here is the short review: Need distortion? BUY IT. This this is so metal. Need distortion on distortion? BUY IT. This thing is so metal. Need to make a synth scream like your LFO is on fire? BUY IT. This thing is so M-E-T-A-L! If your looking for overdrive, or subtle, look somewhere else. Joyo Uzi works well for that kind of job used lightly... This thing? Oh my, look at what I can do, all boosted to the hilt with an electric mistress pushing from behind delivering a whole dump truck full of crunchy distorted synth bliss. Guitar? YUP, shred that too. Me personally? This hunk of metal just turned my Brute2S patch bay into the dream machine bed the Doom Eternal sound track was conceived on. Im on to you Mic Gordon.

Best in its price range
While I am not a total tone snob, I am pretty picky about stuff, especially when I am spending money! I play mostly Post Rock and Shoegazer stuff, but sometimes, I really need to push my distorted tone a bit further. Or just want to play God Machine riffs all day. I also have an older model Jeckyl and Hyde, a Swollen Pickle, a Fat Sandwich and an EQD Hoof Reaper on my board. The metal muff always sounds a little boxy to me. I know that this is the very sound that metal is good for, so I guess that's not a bad thing as far as this pedal is concerned. It also plays well with my CAE wah pedal, another major plus. While this guy is mos def not my go to pedal, when it's needed, I am grateful it's on my board. If you don't have a bunch of cash to drop on a "metal pedal" I'd vote that this guy is your best bet. However, if you've got $200 or more and metal is your thang, then I would look a little harder and do a little more research. I set up my Metal muff as follows. Top boost is always on and set between 10-11 treble and mids are set about the same, bass is set at about 3 and distortion is set at about 9. I play an Itialia Modena through a Fender Twin Reverb '65 Reissue. This is a great pedal if you're low on funds, not all about the metal or just starting to play guitar. But again, if you have the cash, and metal is your thing. I would do a lot more research before you just get this guy. Perhaps an Empress Heavy or dr scientist the Elements ...? I'm not saying it's bad. For its price range it's the best!! I'm just saying there are better options out there. Rawk on kidz!

Wide distortion range and versatility
this is a must have pedal for any rock player, tight compressed distortion sound , you could play with the EQ to get the sound your looking for, it goes from an overdrive sound to a really heavy distortion, It's build to last forever, the sustain is fantastic and the top boost give you another range of possibility's.the only downside is the battery, get the power adapter , batteries wont last more than 2 or 3 days and you have to unscrew the back to replace it.Overall, I'm really happy with this pedal.

Bang your head!
This is one of the most overlooked metal pedals on the market. The tonal range is amazing. The quality of construction is better than pedals far more expensive. It's a real stomp box because you can actually stomp on it. Boss pedals might as well be made out of glass by comparison. The Top Boost is perfect for cutting through a mix with a solo or riff without having to crank the mids. It looks metal. It sounds metal. Buy it and be metal.

Best Value for a Distortion Pedal
If you like Mastodon, then you will love this pedal. I didn't think I would find a distortion pedal that would sound good for less than $200, but I clearly have been proven wrong. There are lots of different sounds you an get from this thing, but if I were to describe the sound from it in one word it would be, "Mastodon-like".

Ottimo pedale. Aggressivo come lo volevo. E con tanto gain.
Perfetto nelle sue performance, soprattutto sui fraseggi. Suono pulito e con il giusto rapporto distorsione e nitidezza di suono.

Amazing pedal
I absolutely love this pedal. It has a thick heavy metal sound that works perfect for any time of metal. The treble boost is pretty sick sounding but not as thick. It’s definitely great for solos. It’s also a very well built and durable pedal. It’s worth the money.

A great metal pedal at the very best!
This is by far the best ever metal pedal I have bought. I played with it as I made great tones featured on, although it contains the typical EQ settings. I think it's pretty much a lot better than the Boss MT-2 Metal Zone pedal, due to to people complaining about the settings on the pedal, and I think I agree to some reviewers regarding this. The simple fact is that you get the normal treble, the low end and mids, which can be good for playing around the sound. You obviously get the volume and the top boost setting which is also nice (just try and play around the settings on the pedal accordingly). For a good £89, I was expecting greater of this pedal in the view of the fact that it looks simple, and sounds a lot cooler as well.To conclude this review, I would highly recommend this pedal to those who are fans of metal/heavy metal. This pedal is a true must have!
