Eat, Pray, #FML

This is not some Hollywood BS Story
I bought 2 copies of “Eat, Pray, #FML!” by Gabrielle Stone as soon as I had finished reading the 10 free pages available on Amazon. I HAD to read the whole book, now, and have a copy for my Sister-in-Love (that’s what we call each other married to brothers), because she’s been wanting to write her book for 30 years, and didn’t have the balls to get truth to the page. Because of Gabrielle Stone’s “Eat, Pray, #FML!” redemption story, we both have the courage to speak our truth. She sure has.I was mesmerized by her easy-going, approachable, (see vernacular) prose and her fascinating story. Most of all, though, I am in awe at her capacity for raw honesty. In the time it took to get to my Sister-in-Love’s July 4th family gathering and feast, I’d already read to page 144. I couldn’t put the book down, calling other women at the party, to hear passages from the book and we roared with laughter and “You go, girl!”. I didn’t want the book to end, savoring it over the course of the weekend every chance I got.Granted, this very young woman is from a family of actors so weaving a tale is probably second nature to her. But, “Eat, Pray, #FML!” isn’t some tawdry tell-all made-up Hollywood bullshit story to sell copy. It is a raw, honest, hopeful, ridiculously funny, courageous story about making lemonade when life gives you lemons. Gabrielle Stone gives her life’s journey to you in poignant, often heart-wrenching human tones that mark her redemption as a woman, and a brave human being. She really gives it to you in plain English and shares so much of herself, you’d think a Grandmother school teacher would have to cringe and hide behind her petticoat. Not for a moment. Gabrielle Stone’s remarkable journey to redemption over the course of just a few months reveals to her readers that self-love is true love and it heals everything. I loved her “Thought Onion” too and use it regularly. What this beautiful, courageous, extraordinarily gifted storyteller has done for me in her defiance of mediocrity and her determination for integrity, is the realization that my past is only negative, destructive, bad or worse if I choose to attach that kind of meaning to it. “Eat, Pray, #FML!” showered me with fresh audacity and a willingness to look at my life, differently, deeper, and from a place of self-love. I am every so grateful. All my relationships are the better after reading it. Even my sex life has improved!Thank you, Ms. Stone!

F*$k Daniel and Javier and Those Bad Reviews
Let me start off by saying - those bad reviews at the top have to be fake and Amazon should check their algorithm. If you read the story you know that a certain couple are social influencers and just all-around terrible people and I would not put it past them to have a hand in voting those bad reviews. Not saying everybody has to have the same opinion but I am saying that knowing this story, knowing the family this story has built, it just seems off. Take my two cents as you will, however, now about the book itself:I was searching for THE book to speak to me during a really rough time in my life. I had recently found out that my boyfriend of 10 years was/had been cheating on me, like a lot. In addition, I realized the years of being gaslighted and emotionally abused really put some deep trauma in me. While I knew I was better off, it still hurt and I wanted to find somebody, anybody who could relate to what I was going through. I would try books that were recommended and not finish due to the negative tones, and the way the story was written (unrelatable). Then in late 2020, I came across Gabrielle's TikTok. She had been cheated on and then had her heart broken and she.was.smiling. Her energy spoke to me and I wanted to hear more about how she went from heartbreak to smiling and sharing her story.Gabrielle talks about her ex-husband, ex-boyfriend, and all other trauma in a way that is so raw. As I was reading about her experience of finding out her husband cheating on her, I felt like I was there - I had literal flashes of recalling very similar experiences that I went through and directed my own feelings of hate towards Daniel. When Gabrielle was falling in love and then having her heart break, I felt anger towards Javier (& most men). I cried and sympathized with her because if you have ever had your heartbroken, you feel for anybody who has experienced something similar - and you will feel that in the beginning stages of her story.Eventually, Gabrielle goes on this epic journey - and again the way she writes about it is very relatable. While I didn't get to take an epic Europe adventure I think we can all relate to what one goes through to move on and forget something. Gabrielle is going through exactly that in her adventure. Some people chose to hermit and close of from the world, some people chose to go out and party and drink. Whatever you do - we can all relate to having our own coping mechanisms. We all need to get it out before we can begin to heal. The thing that I love the most about this story - there isn't necessarily a happy ending. I don't want to get into too much detail to spoil anything, but I think it is a great reminder that healing TAKES TIME. You can't rush your healing and you can't expect it to be linear or follow the path that worked for others. It is totally ok to not have everything figured out.Long story short - Buy this book and give it a try. Especially if you are dealing with heartbreak, are in or was in a toxic relationship, or just want to have a great laugh at the expense of somebody else's life. I promise you won't regret it. Enjoy!

Amazing!
This was an absolute amazing (and quick!) read. Bought this fantastic book after hearing so much about it and I mean… come on… the title?! It spoke to me! Could not put it down! Page after page of not only an adventure to amazing places but the woman and strength behind it ALL. Gabrielle Stone is an inspiration not only to me but to so many women and men I am sure that have found themselves in relationships, situations and places they never thought they’d be. Her witty, down to earth humor and perspective on life along with her experiences make this book a must read. After reading the final page and acknowledgments, I IMMEDIATELY purchased her second book, “ The Ridiculous Misadventures of a Single Girl.” Another spot on win. I find myself reading throughout the day even if it’s only for a few minutes because I can’t wait to find out what’s next! Not only is this book about navigating relationships, it is truly about finding yourself, re-evaluating what’s real and loving who you are and who you’ve yet to become. It is a feel good read where you connect to so many parts and feel like you’re on an adventure with someone you’ve known forever. Oh and! You get to travel vicariously to amazing places all over the world! #WINNING

eh.
I have such mixed feelings on this book. I love the soul searching and the travel. I could’ve done without so many “thought onions” though…For the most part it was a smooth read and you could really empathize with Gabrielle.

Loved this book!
Definitely give this book 5 stars. Gabrielle Stone pulls you in and keeps you reading. She is so vulnerable, raw and funny as she takes you on her journey to self awareness. She is also so damn relatable for a lot of women and their journeys in finding themselves. Reading her second book at the moment and it’s just as good! Buy the book for yourself or someone you know that needs it 🍷🫶🏼

It came at the right place, right time
I saw a video in instagram that made me curious, a sweet voice that explained how an older version of herself didn’t survive, it changed in order to love herself. I realized this sweet and beautiful woman wrote a book and I decided to buy it, my surprise was that we had so much in common… it is well written, funny, sad, hopeful… I love it, and bought n.2… the ridiculous misadventures of a single girl… very profound and gaby opens her heart fully, throughout her story I can relate and beginning to love myself💜

Must read ladies!
I am not going to write a classic review, but what I texted Gabrielle in DM as she changed a lot for me with her books. My first feedback was in October 2021:I found out about your book just after I had 2 freaking roller coaster relationships and were stuck in the third. Your first book I was reading on my solo trip to Greece in July. Eat, pray #fml gave me healing. Now on my second solo trip to Greece in October your second book gives me the power to get into a no contact with the third roller coaster men. So THANK YOU for helping me not being the broken girl anymore but the self loving woman that got healing and one day hopefully even closure. ❤️And I updated her just a few days ago with the following:I know I already texted you, but again after 4 months passed reading your books I can feel the change in my life that is caused by you. So I needed to tell you again, that your story, your attitude and all your words help people all over the world. Thank you! 💕I already told my girls about her books and can fully recommend reading it!
