Used these on a some pedals that are mounted to a bottom floor plate. Since they're bottom mounted, my foot placement needs to be relatively high compared to the floor plate in order to get the leverage I need on the pedal, which means I must raise my leg to brake and can't rest my foot in a position that is readily positioned to use the brake without moving my entire leg. This riser puts the pad of my foot right where it needs to be for me to come on and off the brake without moving my leg.
