A Really nice book for someone getting started in the hobby - or even the jaded ones
It's a great book for someone that's getting started in being interested in the Transatlantic liner - note - not cruise liners - there is a difference - hate it when people refer to the "Titanic" and other Transatlantic liners as "cruise liners". It's a great basic book - and the authors have chosen their illustrations well - and it's worth a look if you're interested in liners - or the basic maritime history.

One of the finest books I have read on Ocean liners.
Wow, what a book. Being an ocean liner buff I found this book to be of the highest standard covering all there is to know about the history of the transatlantic liner. Chris and Rachelle have gone into a lot of detail covering all there is to know. If you didn't know anything about this subject before reading the book your sure to know everything there is to know post reading. I recommend anyone to read this informative book. I am buying another one for some friends.

Very average
There is nothing much new here. A couple of new photographs but nothing you havent seen in many other ocean liner books.

One Star
This book was boring and trite and lacked any color images whatsoever.

Fantastic!
Firstly I could not disagree more with Robert W Bilkie and find it sad that he was so negative about such a great book. Now to the review! From the moment I laid eyes on the front cover of this book it just screamed elegance and quality. Chris and Rachelle have done an exceptional job of capturing the essence of what transatlantic travel was all about and how it has developed over time to what we have today. They obviously have a keen eye for layout and presentation which helps the reader immerse themselves into the book and really feel part of the history and stories along the way.The book provides a great balance of detailed information on key areas and flows extremely well which is extremely hard to achieve with such a huge subject to cover. I would highly recommend this book to everyone for it is a brilliant insight into our ocean going history.
