I understand that this is meant to be bright, but it glares from the sides too much, making squinting necessary, so it is hard to see anything. It would be great if they had a thin, removable shade that could slip over the sides. I could probably make one myself, but I would be afraid of fire. I would rather get something like that directly from the company.It IS bright, and doesn't seem to get too hot. As with all spiral bulbs, it leaves a dark spot directly under the center of the spiral

This fluorescent fixture has the largest curly-q bulb I've ever seen. Works great to light up our workspace at night and it's convenient that it has a built-in hook. Assembly was a bit more complicated than I thought but didn't take long.

Very bright, worked great in large room on construction site

This light is a great construction temporary light. It has a low power draw, and is quick to light. Really beats a double 500watt halogen.
