You are correct. The only possible implication of including hazelnut is the ingredient listing of "natural flavors." I generally purchase this particular hazelnut syrup, along with a 100% hazelnut extract from a company called OliveNation. I add about 3 tablespoons of the OliveNation Hazelnut extract to the nearly full Monin Hazelnut syrup bottle. The result, IMHO, yields a truly exceptional tasting hazelnut syrup.

What exactly is the "natural flavors"? It bothers me when companies are shady like this. Just state what the ingredients are.

It's probably a trade secret to prevent any imitations to be produced.
