Buy Dragon Age: Tevinter Nights (Dragon Age (Paperback)) by Weekes, Patrick from desertcart's Fiction Books Store. Everyday low prices on a huge range of new releases and classic fiction. Review: Great to read before Veilguard is out - A diverse collection of stories from all over Thedas. Some cameos from Dragon Age game characters (old and new) and certainly lots of post-Inquisition threads that will tie into the Veilguard game. Recommend this for fans. Review: A Real Page Turner - The events of this book happen between those of Tresspasser and The Veilguard and build tension well for the latter. It also serves as a good introduction to some of the DA4 companions. It is written as a series of short stories which are all engaging and enjoyable to read. I would highly recommend it for any fans of the Dragon Age Series.

Worth it for the Dread Wolf story
I am a new Dragon Age games fan. I wanted more detailed background to the series as a new game is expected to release next year. I really love the game series. This book contains various stories that detail a range of factions and locations. I wanted to love it but honestly found a lot of it to be less than exciting and more functional, in that it added to my knowledge. However, I felt it was worth buying just for the final story that concerned the Dread Wolf and new information about his actions and plans. He was a main character in the last game and is one of the probable antagonists of the next game. After loads of fairly slow-moving tales, the last one finally got my pulse racing with excitement. I wish every story in the book had been as exciting. I don't want to spoil it, but it really sets the scene for how powerful he actually is and if you still thought of Solas as an 'unwashed apostate hobo', this one story will correct your mistake and make you rethink your life choices! So I would recommend anyone who has played the last game and intends to play the next, and if you are a bit more interested in the characters and background than average, get it for the last story at least. Especially if the Dread Wolf interests you

Great collection of short stories from Thedas
Short stories from Thedas which add background to some new characters, really enjoyed but you will need previous knowledge of the Dragon Age games and media to thoroughly understand

Must have for Dragon Age fans
Absolutely brilliant series of books! If you are a Dragon Age fan it's a must have. The stories were very diverse, some were less exciting than others but most were fantastic, incredibly gripping and some quite gruesome! I also love the returning characters from the games and the fact that it sets up for the next game!

While we're waiting for the next chapter
Finally, some food for thought while we're waiting for the next game! I really enjoyed the novels, even though most of them fall into the same Introduction-mystery-final battle pattern. Despite repetitive plot points, it gives a reader a glimpse into what it's like to live in different parts of Thedas. The ones about Grey Wardens, mortalitasi, Crows, Lords of Fortune and loyal soldiers of the Inquisition are the most captivating ones. And we mustn't forget: The Dread Wolf rises!

A good read with a nice anthology of stories. Editing of the book is not that great; there were quite a few errors and misspellings. One egregious example: Hormak misspelled as Hormok (despite 'Hormak' being in the title of one of the stories)! Nothing major, you can make a fun game out of it by taking a shot every time you spot an error!

Do you like Dragon Age? Did you like Inquisition? If so, this book is a must have. Of particular interest to those of us who made it through Trespasser will be the last story, "Dread Wolf Take You". First, Charter is in it and she's great. Second, it's going to help explain how the red lyrium idol from DA2 is in the trailer for the next game, since given how DA2 turned out that's a question that needs an answer. They're all good, though some will appeal more than others. Horror at Hormak is very Cthulhu Mythos, and one of two stories with Grey Wardens acting more like Grey Wardens in Origins. If you just absolutely must do yet another iteration of Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians", as "Eight Little Talons" does, at least it's a good job with compelling characters and, of course, Antivan Crows improve everything. (But seriously, this story and Heart of Darkness need to be retired from writing.) "Callback" is a love note to all the little characters around Skyhold, and great fun. There are other great stories. A couple meh stories. They go to some effort to introduce Lords of Fortune, a group we'll certainly see later and that I really didn't need in my life, but okay. Also, we get to meet some lower status Tevinter mages, which is really fun because all we've seen so far are there big deal sorts. The stories were well written. It seems to focus on introducing the parts of Tevinter Dorian doesn't know much about (he does have a cameo), the Mortalitasi, the Antaam still acting without sanction, these Lords of Fortune, and the Crows. Also Philliam, A Bard! And Genitivi share a story.

I bought this as a stocking gift for my daughter, who is the gamer in the family and she tells me she is enjoying this book immensely. I understand it to be short stories between the old game and the new one.
