Perfectly fine, rear derailer
If properly installed on the correct derailer hanger, and properly adjusted, this derailer will last you for several years, and works just fine despite its relatively low price. I ride my bike every day and use it as my only form of transportation. I would pay more for a rear derailer if necessary. However, this one is just fine.

Good 7 speed shifter, terrible 8 speed
The headline says it all: for a 7-speed bike, this works great and is a major upgrade from the starter Shimano that seems to come on all e-bikes. However, if you're trying to use this with a Shimano 8-speed shifter on an e-bike, prepare for disappointment after many hours I never could get it to work with an 8 speed freewheel and the corresponding 8 speed Shimano shifter, just not enough range to get to the lowest great closest to the spokes.

Cheap and easy.
There's not much to say about this, it's a derailleur, so here's a point list. *It's easy to install. *The adjustments on this derailleur are very good, it's unlikely you'll need to re-seat the cable during install with how much adjustment can be made on this. *It has a good feel to it and has a break point (plastic bolt) to protect the derailleur in event of an accident. *It's cheap. If this is your first derailleur install, it's very easy but there aren't any instructions with this derailleur. If you go on YouTube and spend a little time messing with the adjustments you'll have this thing installed and working in no time, but be prepared for a lot of back-and-forth tuning if you're not used to it. Overall I'm giving it a 5 star rating because it does exactly what it says, with a good overall quality, easy adjustment, and a cost that will make your wallet thank you. Obviously there are better derailleurs but when you factor in their prices and the quality of this I think it's a hard sell to get anything else as a general cyclist.

Step up from Tourney
I really like this derailleur compared with Tourney. I like the pulleys, and the ease of installing it. The shifting is more smooth and so far no complaints. I'm very pleased with the purchase. Also, it arrived quickly and packaged in a Shimano box. It is as it was described. I recommend this purchase

Good derailleur, good value
For less than $30, this is a good upgrade if you have a cheap derailleur.. Works well so far on my Trek Marlin 5. Easy to install.

Shifts are quick and sure every time. What more could you ask for?
I damaged the derailleur on my trusty Raleigh model c40 beyond repair. The original part was an Acera from some years ago so I ordered this. It works great! Shifts are quick and sure every time. What more could you ask for? Well, the instructions that came in the box are useless. I get the feeling their lawyers sucked any useful information out of the instructions under the theory that if there are no useful product installation instructions there is no product installation liability. I installed and adjusted it myself after watching a YouTube video by Calvin Jones from Park Tool titled "How to Adjust a Rear Derailleur – Limit Screws & Indexing". Highly recommend for cycling "shade tree mechanics" everywhere. The derailleur is precision made and adjusts quite like what is described in the video.

Awesome Derailleur Highly Recommend!
So when I originally bought this Shimano Acera RD-M360 Rear Derailleur/Rear Mech (RD or RM) I had bought it to replace an old used SRAM Rear Derailleur. The used RD-M360 Rear Derailleur worked fine for about a year, But then after a year of use I noticed the cage was shaking and after reading my Park Tool BBB-3 and watching several Park Tool Rear Derailleur adjustment and advanced troubleshooting videos and checking my own RD I notice the cage was shaking not badly but it still concerned me, so I decided to go ahead and just purchase a new RD. Instead of upgrading I just bought a new Acera RD-M360 instead. Now I will most likely upgrade to Alivio in the future, maybe/maybe not but for now this RD meets all my needs. While it’s not the highest end Shimano groupset like XTR is which is geared more towards people who definitely are racing and super serious about biking as a sport. But for average everyday riders who just ride for the joy and fun of bike riding like myself. This RD along with my matching model FD-M360 (Front Derailleur) and my Shimano FC-M361 42-32-22 triple crankset, Shimano BB-UN55 68 x 122.5 square taper bottom bracket and 11-28 Shimano HG-51 cassette and Shimano CN-HG71 chain all this and Shimano BL-T4000 set and BR-T4000 brake set and Shimano SL-RS45 twist shifter set on my Specialized Classic Hardrock hardtail is pretty awesome and makes for a super awesome ride. So at the end of the day this RM meets all my needs, and is great for the Average Everyday rider. I highly recommend this Shimano Rear Derailleur, including all the products I mention above. Buy this you won’t regret it.

I am replacing like for like. This was the original derailer for my bike that kept serving me well and problem-free for close to 10 years. I never had problems with it, shifting was always fast, easy and reliable. Once adjusted it, it stayed so for the whole season, so now that the old one is rusted (and still working) I just got another one like it. To be fair there wasn't a whole lot of a choice out there: there is this, there is the Altus one (which I hear is great too), the Tourney one (which is a step down), and a whole bunch of knock-offs. I just stuck with what I know works really well on my bike. At this price point there is no reason to get anything else. Oh, bad shifting is sometimes caused by rusted and old cables and housings. You will be surprised how much of a difference new cabling makes.

Dérailleur excellent pour promenade VTT tranquille. Un peu léger pour pratique VTT plus musclée. Il tient le choc mais finit par prendre un jeu important.
