The pros use this brand for a reason
Tel-Tru thermometers are a favorite among all the famous BBQ pros on YouTube for good reason - they're incredibly accurate. I recently bought these for my Traeger and Weber kettle. I was concerned about my Traeger's temperature precision, so I mounted one slightly above grill level on the door. To my delight, the Tel-Tru matched the readings of my ThermoWorks probe, which is certified to ± .5⁰ F. Surprisingly, my Traeger's built-in thermometer was also very accurate, within just 2 degrees.Installing the Tel-Tru is a breeze; all you need is a drill with a 1/4" bit, and it's on in seconds. If you're particular about maintaining precise grill or smoker temperatures for your barbecue, I highly recommend Tel-Tru thermometers.

Accurate, easy to install, easy to read
Very accurate and quick response. I have a Weber Mastertouch with a thermometer, but the thermometer is opposite the vent. I wanted a thermometer next to the vent and researched for a few days to find the right thermometer to install next to the vent. While not the cheapest, this is exceedingly good. A 1/4 inch hole easily drilled into the Weber lid using a quality drill bit, and it's done.I found the difference between the Weber thermometer over the coals and the Tel-Tru next to the vent to consistently be 20-25 degrees difference. As I was smoking ribs, the temperature at the vent was 225 while the Weber gave a reading of 245-255. That's been consistent whether using direct or indirect cooking. The Weber thermometer was also slower to respond to opening and closing vents, but that's not a big issue. As I grill/smoke a few times a week, this Tel-Tru thermometer was well worth the price for accuracy.
