Gentle and effective on previously relaxed hair
Excellent product if you decide to use it in lieu of a lye or no lye relaxer.

Lumpy and hard to mix but gentle on hair as compared to Mizani Mild Relaxer
At this point, my hair is still natural. I am working up the courage to try and texturize it. I quit relaxing my hair because it became very easy to over process, and I could not get my stylist to listen to me. My hair is fine, type 4a or b, and very coiled. I would like to loosen It to a type 3 curl for easier maintenance. My choices are between Mizani Mild relaxer and this one. Both products have a pH of 12? The Mizani is a thick white cream. This one is yellow and more like a gel that melts in your hands. Mine had separated into globs. I stirred it quite a bit but it is still lumpy. I will keep trying.I did a stand test with both. My snap-back was 100% at the start - meaning my hair recoiled upon itself when released. During the strand test, I pulled the hair through the product to recoat it - and tension came from wrapping it around the spatula… I did not pull on it. Min 3 minute both had started to relax the hair. The Mizani hair was very easy to elongate (stretch) and it snap-back was about 50% in three minutes. And in 5 minutes, the Mizani hair was just a loose wave was no snap-back. The Linange didn’t elongate or stretch unless I increased the wraps around its spatula. It did, however, show less snap-back. At 3 minutes, it was at 50% snapback. And 5 minutes, it had no snapback but it did have an s curl.My goal is to minimize shrinkage by lowering the SnapBack to 50% and loosen my curl pattern to a Type 3 while keeping my hair strong and healthy. My takeaways from this are (1) Linange left the hair stronger than Mizani did. and (2) for my hair. This product should not be on longer than 5 minutes, maybe less, if the goal is to texturize fine hair. (Incidently, assign water to dilute it made my hair curl and that’s it, adding conditioner made it more runny but it was still pretty straight after 5 minutes, and adding a teaspoon of Avocado oil slowed down the texturizer substantially.).My next step will be to see how well it is neutralized with Linange’s expensive neutralizing conditioner versus the more reasonably priced options. So far, I am impressed how gentle this is on hair. I just wished that they made it process super slow to make it easier partially straighten the curl.

Must know how to use
Although this is a texturizing product you can not comb through it if you want to keep your natural curls. You must put it in quickly and take it out quickly. If you don’t know what u r doing seek professional help. But tell them the same or your hair will be perm straight!

NOT a texturizer!
The one thing I don’t like is to do my homework on a product and expect it to do what it says, and after purchase it’s something totally different. This is more like a relaxer (which straightens the hair)! It does not texturize at all! I once had a little curl to my hair and was looking to get more defined curls, and this product stripped my curls. DO NOT BUY if you want a “texturizer”. You WILL be disappointed. The label is a lie.
