I like that I can place my glue gun in the holster when it is hot. I don't have to worry about damage to my work surface or look for something heat resistant to prop my glue gun against while I'm using it or letting it cool. My glue gun would slide around my desk easily if the cord was moved, not an issue with the holster. Sometimes I would find glue dripping on my table or find another craft item had fallen on the glue gun and got damaged. With the holster, I can keep my glue gun separate from my other supplies while still having it handy to use. I don't have to worry about touching the hot tip or any glue drips. The holster will cling well to my desk surface as long as it is a flat, clean and dry (that is how any silicone product is able to grip a surface). If you try to use it on an area with any dust or water it won't grip the surface. I like it very much, the only reason it did not get 5 stars is because it does not actually stick to my table, if I hang it on my table as described empty it holds fine but when I put the glue gun and sticks in it it falls right off.
